Is it a kind of heron? Amazing capture of the birds on the boat's equipment. She waits for a fresh harvest, isn't it? Funny scene, Ike. Well done!

how lovely you were able to combine two of your favourite subjects -the port and egrets- in a delightful composition. You've balanced the details of the foreground and the partial distant view in a very apt way, depth and clarity are marvellous. I like very much the sharp and natural way in which you have captured the textures. The light is warm and pleasant, the colours have superb definition and their combination is very appealing. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

He seems very proud of himself this perched egret. You have framed the shot well, making good use of the graphical lines offered by the fishing crane whilst still showing the boat in the context of its surroundings. Good technical presentation.

composizione interessante, l'argano in primo piano sembra gigantesco.
Ottima qualità e bei colori.

The close-up point of view is showing the détails and colours of the crane-Wheel and of the Little Egret. It is clear and sharp. The good luminosity is making the colours to stand out. Have a nice day.

You couldn't have planned for this shot!
I would have loved to see this!
Birds, it would seem, are also opportunists!
The photograph really grabs attention; the large wheel, strongly positioned, is what one notices first. There is, in fact a triangle of apparatus which leads quite naturally to the star of the show, the little egret. He looks to be taking a bow!
Great shot, very well composed and with details that are sharp and accessible.
Have a great day,

You're capturing well this huge crane-wheel on fishing boat by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the iron crane with big wheel for discharging a load. The whole is unified well by a good arrangement and bright color combination. And, a little egret stopping on the rope draws out additional good effect in this image as a bonus.

J'aime beaucoup le milieu maritime et j'ai toujours du plaisir avoir un oiseau sur les élements d'un bateau de pêche.

Lep pogled na ribarski tocak i pticu ...
Dobar trenutak snimka, kontrast, lepe boje.
Dobra kompozicija, lepo pokazano.
Prijatno vece i mirna noc, sve najbolje za vikend.
Nice view of the fishing caster and a bird ...
A good time recording, contrast, beautiful colors.
Good composition, nicely shown.
Good evening and peaceful night, all the best for the weekend.

Good tonal quality, wonderful light management. I know you have to snap pictures of skittish birdies quickly so I will ignore the extra pair of wings sticking out of the bird's ears! :-))

As we can see, wild birds adapt to civilization. Very brave this heron that is not afraid of humans and port noise. Great composition with lots of details. Excellent quality photograph.

You shows here a very nice detail of the fishing material.
The real eye catcher is the grey Heron waiting on a nice fish.
Very well composition, nice presentation.
Thank for sharing.
Have a nice weekend,

A very original composition and attractive contrasts between the great wheel of the port crane, with its rusty metal and white and blue boats, the bird on top of the crane gives a wonderful touch.
A very nice day, which gives a beautiful range of colors.
Great management of light and perfect sharpness.
Enjoy the weekend.

I think the Little Egret couldn´t find better place for watching out the food:)Fishing boat sounds almost like a feast.
I like your well considered and executed close-up shot of this interesting bird. Also the juxtaposition is captivating, both when it comes to subjects of the image as well as the strong color contrast.
jcpix (11058) 2013-05-11 20:20
Good morning Ike,
Out of his element, but looking and feeling right at home! This Egret blends in almost so well that it would go virtually unnoticed without a good look. It's a beautiful contrast of nature vs. the man made tools seen here. A nice observation and capture to get this recorded. The detail is sharp, and I love the many different parts and shapes provided with this cross section of crane wheel. What would really be fun is if you could get a picture of a Crane, on a crane. :) Thanks for sharing this combination of bird and machine. Have a great day ahead.
All the best,
UlfE (14635) 2013-05-11 22:33
Excellent photo. Perhaps it depicts the equipment on this fishing boat as much as the Little Egret. I guess it might have been quite difficult to come close enough to take a photo of the bird alone. For this reason I think it was a brillant idea to let the equipment be the main subject. It is then a very good photo of both the bird and the environment where it were. The photo is also very well-composed with the mast at 1/3 and some great diagonals. The vertical format is also a very good choice. TFS and have a nice Sunday!
Robert1969 (6834) 2013-05-12 1:17
Like what Jason wrote: "Out of his element, but
looking and feeling right at home". Standing on
the crane-wheel is a photogenic moment what you
captured very well, but there are two points
which you can improve the picture next time:
try a lower position then there is less
background and ensures that the mast is not
directly behind him or her. After those two
points the picture would be "stronger".
Kugart (1778) 2013-05-12 7:53
Nice shot of the sea bird perched on the crane and as you say waiting on some leftovers.Like the co;ours on this and the clarity you can even see the texture of the rust on the bracket of the crane.Nice presentation.
papagolf21 (82982) 2013-05-12 11:28
Bonsoir, cher Ike,
Voilà une image très réussie. Ce héron perché sur un élément de bateau pêcheur attend sagement la venue de quelque poisson fraîchement pêché.
L'image est excellente.
marina7 (8049) 2013-05-12 13:13
funny capture, the birdie chose a strange place for its vigil:) I'm used to seeing them stalking along the beach and not perched on cranes. Thanks for sharing, have a great time.
ruisc_pt (10343) 2013-05-12 13:30
Wonderfully catched Ike.
A cateched catcher I would say :)
mirosu (12290) 2013-05-12 22:27
Excellent detail photo with very nice colors, perfect light, very good clarity. I like you composition with the bird on the crane. Excellent location to keep view on captured fishes.
clic (13922) 2013-05-13 6:10
The egreta appears very disappointed for not seeing a fishing net containing a thousand preys attached to a rope around the pulley!!
Fine overall depiction, especially on plumage, shows the best of the "anticlimax" mood!!
josepmarin (57465) 2013-05-17 8:27
a good mixture of nautical elements, as the crane-wheel in foreground, which we can see clearly because of the great sharpness of this image.
I like the contrast of blue and white tones, and the presence of the white bird as well.
A splendid shot.
bayno (18342) 2013-05-17 11:07
Ciao Ike, the egreta is well camouflaged and in a really strange place ;)well captured with fine details...good light and colors too...
maloutim (9623) 2013-05-21 16:29
This is a cute bird on a big machine.
Lovely contrast between the elegant, fragile egret and the powerful, massive crane.
It would have been funny if it had been a crane on a crane :-)
fabbs99 (15677) 2013-05-29 7:18
Is it a crane on a crane.Lovely sight of the bird on top of the apparatus.Very well composed with splendid colors and saturation. Well done.
daddo (22372) 2013-06-30 3:55
Shalom Ike. Clever composition and a play with word since a crane is another type of long legged birds. What is that sticking out of the bird's ears? Just joking. Regards. Klaudio.
jmdias (52025) 2013-07-06 2:57
I liked this mix of metallic shapes and the fragility of the bird but I guess the image would be perfect if you had moved the camera some centimeters at side and put the bird's silhouette against the blue sky. anyway it is a beautiful job.
NorthernLight (1335) 2013-10-04 1:21
haha, this is - I think - a funny photo. The bird probably saw it differently. Sometimes people tend to compare behaviors of animals with those of humans. To me it looks as the bird had planned to make a speech.
A well captured snapshot. Well done, Ike!
Have a nice weekend
elenimavrandoni (14197) 2014-03-05 10:45
Ike, I must say that you have an eagle's eye...my attention would fall on everything else except this beautiful crane..
a great detail and a very beautiful composition!!
kind regards, yassou!!
