Photographer's Note

"Purim" is a traditional holiday in Israel, in many cities there are street-carnivals and many present original costumes.
Here is a Dinosaur costume, colorful and hand-maid.
Taken of the main boulevard in my hometown, Givatayim.

I´ve heard today in TV about this special holiday.Looks like you had really good fun outside.I´m happy to see it.It´s really an excellent capture from a street parade(which I can guess is not easy because of these crowds of people),but you mastered it perfectly.I enjoy this joyful and festive mood you captured so nicely as well as its colorful character.

Good morning Ike,

One question, what is there not to like about a street festival? A never ending variety of subjects, colors and life to choose from...and sometimes almost feels overwhelming as a photographer, but that's a good thing! The only drawback is trying to capture every moment, it can be so spontaneous and difficult to keep up with. This is a great moment you've obtained though, fighting through crowds of people I imagine. :) Nicely done to grab this character as the procession makes its way through, giving some good emotion to the image. A nice colourful image of a street Carnival - A dinosaur with horns '' original '' or maybe a jesters hat... I love the little child sitting on dads shoulders... which I believe is against the law to do in some countries...

Very good document Ike
I didn't that carnaval exists in places as Tel aviv or Greece. Throw Te I can see pictures of that festivals.
Most worldwide famous carnavals are the one of Brazil and Trinidad&Tobago
Anyway, like your picture showing colorful costumes and action scene

So where was your costume?
Do only special groups participate or is it open to anyone?
I love the idea of people making their own costumes and parading for the enjoyment of everyone, especially children. These colourful occasions inspire children's imaginations!
This guy is moving at speed but you have managed to capture him sharply and left plenty of space into which he can travel.

Now this is fun! I lov dressing up in costume and so absolutely adore these types of photos :) The guy actually looks half goat half lizard...really spooky actually. I like the colours here alot, the tight framing, the excellent sharpness and the happy people.

When I live in New Orleans I used to go to the French Quarter a lot especially during the carnival, I missed those days. Nice captured of those carnival goers. Good lighting and nice details. Wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

And here in Greece we have traditions in carnivals. Our most popular is in Xanthi and Patras. It's very fun because thousands of people gather with incredible costumes and dance and sing all the time. I can feel the fun from here and the colours are amazing.

You're capturing well this scene by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the traditional carnival which wears the clothes of rich color and carries out the parade of the street. It is interesting that the carnival participant in a photograph is doing appearance like a monster.

I think such festival is big dream of every photgrapher... Good report, Ike. I can image that funny atmosphere and special mood. I know "Purim" traditional holiday, but I thought this is just very religious event, without street shows )))
