Photographer’s Note

Babel Fish translate:

Mitzpe Ramon (Hebrew מצפהרמון) is a town of 5.000 inhabitants (2004) located in the central Negev desert, in Israel, to approximately 85 km in the south of Beer-Sheva.

The name of the city means “the point d' observation of Ramon”, in reference to the situation of the city above the crater of Ramon. Ramon would be a deformation of “Romain”, and would come d' a way which the Romans had built here.

Makhtesh Ramon is the largest crater of the world not resulting d' an impact of meteorite or d' a volcanic activity. Actually, Makhtesh is the result of l' effrondement by erosion d' a 80 km length valley by 8 broad, which updated some 400 meters height anticlines.
