My Intro to Israel, Day 2, Scene 4
The Ein Gedi nature reserve includes two spring-fed streams with flowing water year-round: Nahal David and Nahal Arugot. Nahal David hike is the simpler walk and that is the one we took. There were pools in which I cooled my heels. Our guide had said we could go swimming but frankly, none of the pools were substantially larger than a bathtub. But even that was just perfect for a hot day. The water forms its own channel through the rock and there were a few places where we could take a natural shower (see WS photo Ablutions).
This is David's Falls, at the end of our hike before we turn around to go back to the bus. A WS photo from a different angle is provided to give a sense for the scale.

fantastic shot of this beautiful waterfall. It is perfectly framed in a well chosen vertical format, while the light is very well managed. Great sharpness and colours.

A very beautiful waterfall, looking so much like a staircase and with the water falling from the most unusual places. Very nice, and perfectly sharp with great natural colors.

Swimming, or bathing...I say "potato, pottato." :) I hope you at least put a few toes in for good measure. An unexpected surprise, I wouldn't have thought to see a waterfall in this setting...but here it is! A lovely presentation, and the bookmark format suits the vertical elements to perfection. There's also a bit of color cascade that flows with the fall itself, a neat visual effect that brings it all together quite nicely. Enjoy the new day. All the best.

The little spring is beautifully taken by you. Colours are natural. But it is half filled spring. Should have been fully operational. may be a global warming effect.

Good afternoon Murat,
You made a nice hike to one of the most secluded waterfall in this desert, and a pitty about the small amount of water it has - this year we had not have many rainy days, and the poor steam is notable.
In a year more abundant with rain, it is much stronger cascade and even a small pool created, once taken a "dip" there. Yet, taken two pictures in a very close aspect, beautifully lit and fine with details.

a lovely presentation of these intriguing falls, your stretched vertical frame is filled with textures and interest. The water has been captured in various forms and textures and its movement is conveyed effectively. The light was too strong but you still managed to capture a great variety of tones and fine shady areas. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

A very nice capture with good scale of the height.
Good detail in the cascading water. Just what the doctor ordered on a hot day nice cool water.
Well its that time of year again, off to Dalyan on Monday for 2 weeks of relaxation. Plenty of Efes, Raki and Daluca.
Have a nice weekend.

I imagine that are few cascades in a dry region like Israel. very beautiful close up of the water falling in the rocks, showing the way it cut the stone bed.
