Photographer’s Note

Mount Solomon (Shlomo) is the second highest peak in the Eilat mountain range- 705 meters above sea level. It is made out of granite- therefore it is pitch black. The neighboring mountain ranges (not seen in the picture) are covered with a brown rock layer, similar to that seen in the foreground, only in this mountain range erosion has exposed the underlying black layer. The road seen in the foreground is in bad condition and not in use anymore.

Hi, I like the composition, it makes the mountain quite impressive and a nice contrast with the underlying brownish road. I think it could probably benefit of some work in the light balance and contrast, the sky and the mountain are slightly overexposed in my view:-)

You have a good photo here. A very nice contrast between manmade circle and the mountain. It looks to me that the road is good. Very interesting note to learn from.

Hi Guy,
The desolated landscape is very scenic and gave you a great photo. You chose the POV very well, the close curb of the road makes it specially attractive visually and the contrast of colour and brightness between the FG and BG doesn't allow it to be monotonous and has the effect of enhancing the rough texture and blackness of the hill of the BG.
It's a pity that the sky is so burnt, but I can't see how you could have avoided that.
