Photographer’s Note
The country is Israel, but what we see in this picture is Egypt.
This is the Israeli-Egypitian border. A view from the Israeli side, 20 km North from Eilat, the suthest border point. There's an Egypitian checkpoint down there, with an Egyptian flag.
This is a border of peace since 1982, but the barbed wires are still there to stop smugglers, terrorists etc.
The valley below is called Moon Valley, I think you can see why. That's where the Sinai desert starts.

Yes, we like to put borders, flags and barbwires, but if we know to look further, there are no borders, no barbwires and no flags.
Thanks a lot Itzik to remind us these thinks.

Well taken. The blured barb wires in the foreground add a lot of athmosphere and transform this beautiful view into something worrying.

Hello Itzik,
Wow this is a powerful image. The barbed wire, the check point and all the dry land. We do live in very different places you and I. Nothing in my reality comes even close to this. I really like the light in this shot. There is a wide ranges of "sandy" tones.

Bonjour Yitzhak ,
Philippe

Hi Yitzhak
I like the out of focus barbed wire. A superb pov, overlooking this desolate landscape. Good work!

Hi Yitzhak,
Long time ago, but I'm very busy on TE, I come again to you portfolio. I find this picture incomparable beautiful, also the world history behind this picture. Very lovely colours with this desert sand.
Thanks a lot.

A simple but quite evocative photo, Itzik. Good inclusion of the barbed wire in the foreground, and a supreme DOF of the photo overlooking the border post and ranging all the way back to the foothills. Very crisp and clear.

Je suis pour une paix durable.
La composition est très intéressante avec l'arrière-plan relativement plus sombre que l'avant-plan.
I am for a perpetual peace. The composition is very interesting with the background relatively darker than the foreground.

What a light/shadow in this shot, those mountains contrasted totally in the shadow, an empty space here nice seen these wirings in front, a good colortone, radiating total the atmosphere of the border here, well captured.

very good. The way you included those wires, the building and the vast dessert create excellent and informative shot - one can feel the mood of the place in it.
