Photographer’s Note
Israel is a small and contrast country. In a mere 21,056 square km are packed the high forested hills of the Galil in the north, the high Shomron hills in the center and the arid Negev triangle in the south. As it is such a small country with vast military necessities, most of the Negev areas are used by the army for different maneuvers.
On the way south to Eilat through the Arava plain, I saw this lovely setting sun and this metal sign, which warns that military armed maneuvers are conducted in the proximate area, and thus unauthorized trips in the area are forbidden.

Hi Chen, great rays shining from the setting sun over the desert. The stark warning sign and the beauty in the sky are complete opposites. Just like Israel, I imagine. TFS.

The signboard become a powerful element in the composition of what could have been just another sunset.
