Church of the 7 Apostles
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Greek Orthodox Church of the Seven Apostles was built in 1931. It marks the site to which the village of Capernaum was relocated following the earthquake in A.D. 746. The church is dedicated to the seven apostles to whom Jesus appeared by the lake after his resurrection (The Gospel of John, chapter 21).
When I took the photo there was a thunder cloud hanging on the background creating almost dramatic background. The clouds also softened the light and cut any harsh contrasts. |
