My Intro to Israel, Day 3, Scene 9
Late afternoon, we got to our destination in Tiberias, The Scots Hotel. This is a view of the Sea of Galilee from the gardens of the hotel, which started its life as a hospital of the Scottish Church.
The hospital building was erected in the 19th century by Dr. David Watt Torrance - a Scottish surgeon, who saw medicine and treating the sick in the Holy Land as his calling.
The first hospital in Tiberius was built in January 1894 by Dr. Torrance who managed the hospital, worked in it and also travelled around the region treating its inhabitants including the residents of Safed.
In 1921, his son, Dr. Herbert Torrance, joined his father and worked at the hospital until his retirement in 1953. The mayor of Tiberius at the time awarded him a gold pin as a gesture of profound gratitude from the city. The hospital continued operating as a maternity hospital till 1959, and several years later the main buildings were refurbished as a Hospice for pilgrims.
The luxurious hotel was established by the Scottish Church in 2004 in the historical compound of the Scottish Hospital, and uniquely combines the 19th century basalt buildings with a modern and up-to-date hotel of international standards.
The WS contains a photo of the entrance to the hotel.
The Scots Hotel’den (İskoçlar Oteli) Celile Gölü

Not what I would have expected to see after the hotels entrance, which appears more medieval...this vista evokes much more of a tropical vibe. Wow, if you enjoy the blue/green color combo, this is THE picture! I don't know I'd ever want to leave this spot, to say the least....it's quite a lovely view. Hard to believe I'm the first to comment on this one after 100+ views, but am happy to be the one. :) Enjoy the rst of the evening. Take it easy.

Hello Murat, Now your photos have such nice saturated colours. Marvelous gardens, with the palms and this beautiful tree with red flowers. Amazing colour of the lake. Splendid view with magnificent sharpness.
I was somewhere near Sea of Galilee with the organized tour. It was just Yom Kippur, nothing worked, all was deserted, no service in hotels, no traffic. Amazing experience.
You stayed in a very nice hotel.

Another place in my country, I did not see at all from this Scottish-inn and ancient edifice once renovated and became a beautiful hotel, Murat.
Lavish green with a fabulous view over the Sea of Galilie, which we call "Kineret".
Fantastic blue and green.
Enjoy a nice holiday weekend,

Subtle light! This grabs me from the thumb, a real cool shot of a pretty waterfront in such lovely setting and what a brill deep blue giving the high contrast. I like the way you've filled the frame so competently, the sharpness, shadow play and vividness of colours & detail lend this shot real spark. Such a charming image with relaxing feeel, Well done.

a most agreeable view to the sea and the distant landscape, delightfully framed by the fresh greenery and the refreshing shade. I like very much the richness of the colours and how the mesmerizing blue theme extends in the sky. Fine details, effective depth and wonderful atmosphere. The workshop picture is interesting but the façade of the hotel doesn't allude to such a beautiful and relaxing view. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
