My Intro to Israel, Day 5, Scene 5
Before we leave the Church of the Beatitudes, I wanted to present a view observed from the church. This is looking from the western loggia of the church. I had to include this in my gallery despite its shortcomings (mainly, the blown out bougainvillea on the right) because it looks somewhat timeless. If one ignores the metal fence in the foreground and glosses over the 20th-century look of the buildings in the distance (which is easy to do since they look so small), this view could be the same as the one of two thousand years ago. (On second look, we should also ignore the power lines.)
Ebedi Manzara - Biraz

Hi Murat, With imagination we can see the view from two thousands year ago.
Pity with this fence, it is so aggressive here, even if green. the bougainvillea is the best part of it. But nicely composed picture with the trees framing, a little haze far away over the lake. Impressive hills.

Hello Murat ,
This is a beautiful view on the golden landscape towards the lake and the moutains in the BG . Of course , the bougainvillea provides an attractive FG .

Finding a view looking the same as 2000 years ago is not easy. Although this is a historically important area, I think it may have changed a lot. It would be interesting to know what the lake's level and the vegetation looked like during Biblical times. But what does it matter, really? It's a great view today and you found a fine red and green foreground.

A good view from the western slopes of the Golan-heights ridge, due west above the Kineret, and the rising cliff on far is the Arbel mountain. The estuary of the Jordan-river is not seen - but it is on the right side small "fjord". A marvelous point taken from, not ignoring the daily-life elements because they are there and part of the scenery.
Inspite the constant mist over this 2nd lowset lake on earth, managed a fine (and exact) view all over, and the addition of the pink flowers is wonderful.

Modern details aside, I really like what you were trying to accomplish here, and looking past those aspects, it's easy to understand and visualize the concept. In its simplicity, it's surely a picture with purpose, and I can only imagine what it must have been like to physically stand there and think back in time. The bouganvillea actually provides a nice burst of color into the scenery too. A fine view and reflective moment gathered...not to mention, an amusing title. :) Hope you're having a nice weekend. Take it easy.

I like the vivid splash of colour added by the purple bougainvillea flowers at right. Good sharpness & a superb high pov. The fg vegetation frames the bg scene, adds depth and layering and provides a graphic element. Good warm cold color contrasts against the bg blue water and sky. Tfs!

Glimpse into mini garden of eden in an attractive natural environment with the fiery red gives an appealing invitation to explore all the detail around. This indeed a national treasure so well captured and presented, Beautiful shot, Congrats.

men put different plants around the world. in the foreground I can see 3 plants we have here in my town, very usual here. a bougainvillea, native from my town, a fake cinnamon tree from india at left and an eucalyptus at right.
beautiful view of the mountains and fields around the sea. should be impressive to see these places and imagine eyes of Jesus saw the same landscape we are seeing.

I can say the colours of May and the colors of November are not the same. We were here in the autumn season and my photos are not so colourful and picturesque. Very interesting report from the North of israel.
