My Intro to Israel, Day 4, Scene 12
The Sea of Galilee Boat, also known as the Jesus Boat, was an ancient fishing boat from the 1st century CE (the time of Jesus), discovered in 1986 on the north-west shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. The remains of the boat first appeared during a drought, when the waters of the lake receded. The remains were found by brothers Moshe and Yuval Lufan, fishermen from Kibbutz Ginosar. Upon reporting the discovery to the authorities who sent out a team of archaeologists to investigate, an archaeological dig followed, undertaken by members of Kibbutz Ginosar, the Israel Antiquities Authority, and numerous volunteers. Because of a rumour that the boat was full of gold, the dig had to be guarded night and day. Excavating the boat from the mud without damaging it, quickly enough to extract it before the water rose again, was a difficult process which lasted 12 days and nights. The boat was then submerged in a chemical bath for 7 years before it could be displayed at the Yigal Allon Museum in Kibbutz Ginosar.

Hello Murat, Jesus boat, how fascinating! Surely, it was difficult process to prepare for exhibition. Will it survive the next 200 years, I wonder.

A very well observed and crafted composition with so much to take in at the unbelievable main item. It's so clean crisp, the processing suits the subject to good effect with lovely touch of green illumination as additional colour. Impressive indoor shot full of good contents, Well done, TFS

Merhaba Murat Bey
A fascinating subject that reminds me of the shipwrecks and Maritime Museum in Fremantle, Western Australia, although this is much much older than the the 17th & 18th centuries. The vessel depicted here on a diagonal angle adds perspective and makes a fine focal point amongst the stylised waves either side. Tfs!
