Synagogue Church

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
After so much time on Masada, I have decided it's time to show something a bit different. A week ago, Jerzy Bucki (aka batonbujo) came for a quick visit in Israel and I joined him for a tour in the north of the country.
Several hours before this picture we were still looking for a path to reach Belvoir fort (Kohav Hayarden) from west (a difficult assignment with a Mazda 3 private car...) but quickly we realized, as Jerzy put it, that we can skip the crusaders for this one...and so we did.
This is the entrance to Synagogue Church, a place which is considered to be the place where an old Synagogue was standing in which Jesus preached on Saturday in front of the gathering worshipers. Later, around 330 AD, a church was built on the ruins of the Synagogue and till this day is regarded as an important archaeological as well as religious place.
This church is hidden in the market of Nazareth, which at the time of the shooting, was quite empty and quiet. Me and Jerzy had the opportunity to shoot inside this compound (but not inside the church) and also have a conversation with the "gate keeper", which you can see in the WS (along with smiling Jerzy...).
Before we had the opportunity to talk with him, a group of religious girls came for a special visit and we gave place for them to move along and enter the synagogue. While they entered the place, the gate keeper tried to suppress the chattering, chatting and excited girls with his palm movement downward, but not with much success I must say...

hehe,
this is a funny bundle, the main and the workshop...
i thought it was a great pov, this, definitely unusual, what strikes me though is somehow pale colours that went out on my screen...
an important moment - "girls, calm down, it's a prayer place..." is obvious when we look at the man's hand...
nice one, good idea and well executed...
bw, j.
Intresting angle, one that dares you to look at it differently. I like that.
I love the decripeion you left here
I wonder about a tighter shot here - perhaps it's a candidate for the letterbox format....not your strongest image but the learning about the world is so well supplemented in your note...one can imagine well the moment and the man's thoughts and concerns.
good to see you got to travel with J

good w/s!
