Photographer’s Note
Located on the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum was the center of Jesus'Galilee ministry. Jesus lived here for a substantial peroid healing the sick, preaching in the synagogue, and performing miracles.
Today - Capernaum is the location of Isreal's best preserved third/fourth-century marble stnagogue. The new, stressed-concrete Roman Catolic Church of St, Peter is spread-eagled atop the excavation with the dark volcanic stones of the Frabcuscab Monastery abd the white walls and red domes of the Greek Orthodox Church.
