This is the approach to the Baha'i' Memorial Gardens on the slopes of Mt. Carmel. Immediately behind the memorial gardens and up about 600 feet is the Universal House of Justice; the organizing body of the Baha'i' Faith. Across the street and up a block are the gardens surrounding the Shrine of the Bab and immediately in front of them is the very busy Hatzinut ave.
The memorial in this picture is for Bahia khanum...the Greatest Holy Leaf, daughter of Baha'u'llh, the founder of the Baha'i' faith.
Repeatedly I tried to capture just exactly steep Mt. Carmel is but I never got it photographically. The path to the memorial is at about 40 to 45 degrees.
