A caravansary near the port, used for international trade. Goods unloaded at the port were stored 'downstairs', while the merchants stayed 'upstairs'
The Building was done in the late 18th century by Ahmed El-Jazer; the granite columns used in the construction, were 'found' at various places in the surroundings.
In the 15th century bc Akko appears for the first time on 'documents' - cave writings.
A must to see, AKKO is a huge open air museum! |

Excellent, shot, Knut. I like the way the light catches the underside of the entryway. Good work,
good luck,

I like this photo Knut,
Very nice looking through, with a lot of backlight, but still an interesting photo, nice job.

Herr Knut,
I like absolutely this picture, maybe it back light give maybe much white but, the composition and the construction on the background is very nice.
Well seen!
John.
Hey Knut,
Very good capture of typical kervansaray. Warehouses are downstairs and the suits are in upstairs. Very sharp image. The overexposed area is not that bodering. Good job.
Thanks for sharing...

Hi Knut
Superb framing & cropping with the use of the foreground arch to bookend the image. Good shadow detail, but the highlights are blown out a little. I like the people in the background. They add scale & context. Well done!
