Lesser Kestrel is one of the smallest raptors nesting in israel. Lesser Kestrel nesteng in old buildings of Jerusalem and in villages.
in the last 40 years, the population dropped from 3000 pairs to unly 400.Destruction of old houses and renovation of roofs cause Lesser Kestrel to lose their nasting places. the Society For Protection of Nature in Israel has been conducting an project to build nest boxes, erecting them on houses to provied the birds places to nest.

Verry verry nice (should I say action photo)! Perfect timing.

The quality is not great, but who cares . . .

Great catch with good timing, great shot!

Near my house there is a nest on a high tree, so I get a good show when I am at home.

Good timing. I like the place of light. Very sharp. Well done.

I agree with everything that has been said, except that the quality is not great. I absolutely love this picture. Thanks for posting it!

Eyal-lucky you caught this kind of a moment-because they are so fleeting :o( colors are great!

The “Falco naumanni” or the red falcon is truly one of the grate stories of nature conservation and cooperation between Israelis and Palestinian people to join together even in non-peace times just to try saving this remarkably beautiful bird.
For their efforts, the Israeli Dan Alon and the Palestinian Nader El-Hatib won the title “Heroes of the planet 1999” by the time magazine.

This is a really great capture of beautiful bird in a beautiful (and pleasant?) situation.
Grate job as usual Eyal!

I tried WS - C 4 yourself - U might like it?

Wow - great timing

Passioned action of two beautiful birds captured very well. We should not lose these beautiful creatures. Great picture!

Well, it certainly seems these two are doing their best to keep the breed going ;-))
Nice capture. You've had luck with the light, not too harsh, and the colours seem true to life. Sharpness probably as well as it can be in the circumstances, I mean, they're not actually sitting quite still, are they ;-))

Very interesting cable, Eyal!
(just kidding) ;-D
Good photo and useful note! Have to admit I have never seen these birds before.
Good luck to the Society with a hope that their project will be successful!

nice picture.. though the quality isn't that great-but its ok(half my pictures are like that)...

This is a really great photo for many reasons. I think the choice of a neutral background was perfect because it really brings out the detail of the birds. The detail and tack sharpness on the birds is amazing! This is a really good picture!
