In My Playground
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Life is all about perspective. These youth were playing in their playground, enjoying the last warmth of summer before fall will come with clouds and light rain. The fact that the ruins they climbed were 2000 years old didn't change too much for them - this is their playground, and who ever says differently - a liar.
Well, I am a bit too harsh - they are youth, right?
Freedom is flowing with the wind coming from the sea on the other side of the aqueduct, and they indeed felt totally free to do whatever they wanted (mainly throwing dirt and stones at each other...). Somehow their play reminded me of my old times when I was their own age (or maybe younger), playing with my friends at our own urban playground...
Hope this picture brings you some nostalgic memories!
Have a great week!

Hi Chen,
It reminds me for my childhood. Excellent tonality with this golden sepia, very good light and expression of the boys having fun. It looks really nostalgic,
all the best,

Excellent composition Chen, and a very nice write-up. The warmth of the photo color tint used fits the subject matter. Very well done.

well, not everyone has a chance to play on a 2T years old monument, so let them do that, chen :-))
this is a rare image which perfectly fits the te philosophy, imo - i love this story and the view, plus your technical approach (sepia conversion) works really well here;
best wishes, j.

Hi Chen,
I remember playing in World War 2 bunkersv as a kid and Im sure they had important historical value yet they were just tunnels and holes for us to play in. I totally get these kids, it looks like a fun place. Period. This is a strong composition. A very good location for a shoot (nice sepia toning too, although Id go for straight b/w the sepia seems to make the and a bit too yelloish and you lost some details in it). with well placed subjects. I like the proportions of the elements here, i.e. the small kids and this massive wall.
