A hike through beautiful nature-reserve of "Rmat-Ha'Nadiv", bring you after some 3km light walk in a trail, through bushes and small forest, to the old ruins of what was an old mansion, from the Roman era.
In this picture we see a round wine-press and a collecting-pit on side, as the area offer many wineries, nowadays as well.
The place located on the highest point of the southern Mt. Carmel, and there is a view of the coastal-plains, soon I will show it's pictures.
It also named "Ein-Akav", from different era's inhabitants occupied this villa.

nothing spectacular, but I like how the past becomes present, and the present is so far away...

Hello Ike ,
I like this kind of subject , but it is not so easy to captured . Here , you've pefectly included the round area in a good composition with stones in the FG , green trees , and the coastal town in the BG .
Well done .

Very difficult to evaluate how many people were required for grape pressing, given the huge size of press that composes with the rural fields a well-matched photographic theme.
A bit of modernity at far backdrop to elaborate the impression of depth.

A very unusual subject and therefore a very interesting photo and note. You have captured it really well. A very good POV and really fine composition. The lighting was very strong but you have managed it very well. TFS and have nice evening!

I am constantly made aware of how much we owe to the Romans. In many ways, they seemed ahead of their time! This site looks like a fantastic one, with wonderful views across the coastal plain to the sea. Your shot is sharp and detailed with attention paid to the rules of composition.
My warm regards,

Time has left its mark on this wine press. I like the view which extends down from the wine press. The plain with the various levels creates a wonderful composition.

The distance between the old wine press and the city is giving depth to the composition. The point of view isd showing the details and colors of the ancient wine press. The morning light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello dear Ike
I must say that when one thinks of wine-making, Israel is not the first country that comes to mind. So I find it fascinating that there are so many wvineyards in the area. An excellent high POV shows the extent of the ruins well. If these stones could talk.
Warm regards, thanks for sharing

Superb composition, which shows these ancient ruins, where we can still clearly see the circular base of the cellar, wonderful DOF with the view of the population at the end of the plain.
Good brightness and color.

You're capturing well this place by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the ruin of the ancient wine-press with round shape and a collecting-pit on side which is standing on the hill. It's located at a good view seen the farmland and coastline. So, it's also interesting in when thinking the long history of winery.
