Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken in the most holiest day in the year for the Jewish religion. This day is called Yom Kipur.
People are not eating or drinking from the beginning of the day (the evening before) until the day itself evening (by the Jewish calendar, the a starts at the evening and not at 12:00 like we know today).
This day has a very big religious meening and for non religious people it has a very big meening because at this day started 35 years the "Yom Kipur war" (called "October war" by our neighbors). In this war we were surprised by the Egyptian and the Syrian army, and there was a threat for our existance in this country.
In this day, the country is shut down and no one drive his car, so the most busy highways of the country turn to be bicycle routs and walking routs.
I live in Hertzlia, and I realy wanted to take a picture of people who are riding on road no. 2 (also known as the cost road). My home is 3.5 km far from the road, and I wasn't eating or drinking at this time for about 20+ hours so I was quite weak, but I have made the walk and took some photos. I hope you will like this one.
Any kind of critique is welcomed,
Itamar
