[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It was definately a case of "David Cup Fever" last weekend here in Israel. It was the play-off between Israel and Chile for a place in the Davis Cup World Group (Best 16).The atmosphere was electric as the two teams fought it out, the crowd fully behind the home team (if sometimes a little over enthusiastic!) and the tennis of the highest quality.

This here is Dudi Sela.....now somewhat a hero here in Israel as ranked 105 in the world he managed to beat Fernando Gonzalez ranked 6 in a tight five setter that left us clinging to the edge of our seats. His win tipped the scales and put Israel through to the World Group.

Sadly I didn't have the luxury of standing down on the sideline with the professonals so I had to do the best with the position and angle I had.

This is the first of a set of my try at a little sports action.....your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Hi David,
The shadows are superb. Congratulations.

Hey David,

This is a great shot and I love the shadows. The colours are also good.

Kind Regards, Scott

Great timing on this nice kick serve, You can really see the pronation in his wrist. You also managed to catch the ball in the scene which for me in Tennis is very important. We were sad to see that Dudi didn't make it to Lubbock for the Challenger this year. He stayed with one of my students last year along with Harel Levy. Congrats on making it to the World Group as well.

yeah, cool, read that israel won, really great, and so
is your try of the sports action, david! :-)
it is not so easy, so this turned out very good -
excellent frozen action, i like him hanging in the air and his shadow on the side.
did you do a series or is this just a "one shot"?
the ball is still visible but for me a little too far from the racket, i would like to have seen it just when he hit it.
looking forward to more of the sports action & best wishes, thor.

Hi David,
Wonderful action shot with very clear focus to this fast exposure photo. The colors are very clear with excellent sharpness to this photo. The shadow across the tennis player's face and the shadow on the court is very engaging element to this fine sports image.
Regards, Tom

Wow, David!! What a catch!
I love the way you have caught him right in mid-air and still kept such nice crisp detail. The light and colors are just perfect. Man, that is one fine shot!! Thanks for sharing this one,
Regards,
Shelly

Hi David,

You captured a good moment in this game. The player does a great effort to kick back the ball. Excellent light (and shadows), nice colors.

Well done!
Leonor

Hi Dave,
Great catch. I will have to try some sports pics one day. Nice frozen scene and great shadow on the ground.
Excellent pose and expression of the player.
