Photographer’s Note
This is the road that runs just along the outskirts of Rosh HaAyin where I live.My younger daughter was desperate for an icecream (yes...it is the end of November...I know!) and she wasn't taking no for an answer. We popped out to the local super-market (decided to throw my Nikon and a tripod in the car) and on the way back I decided to have a go at catching the passing trafic with long exposures.
After a few tries this was my result.
- Placed the camera at 45 degrees to the road.
- Purposely stopped after a trafic light in the hope that the vehicles would keep to the same lane.
- After a few tries concentrated on tall vehicles as they also had upper rear lights.
I hope you like it....appreciate your comments.
Oh and by the way, by the time I finished, my youngest had more or less decided to wear the icecream as opposed to eating it!!!

Hi David,
Great long shot picture.
Wonderful POV and colors.
I wish to know what are two red lines on top (over the road lights)! May be a big truck or air plane passed.
Great Job & TFS,
Javad.

Hello David,
magnifique jeux de droites et de géométries, ces obliques rouges qui cadrent tout juste les luminaires en étoile, tout cela est très réussi.
Best regards.

Beautiful result, David, of your experiment, esp. taking into the "circumstances". It's amazing how you achieved the red diagonal that comes down from upper left almost all the way to the opposite corner - at the perfect place touching the road lights. Cheers :) Daniel

Dear David,
Great you dropped by my gallery, and great to see yours again too! I like this one for the atmosphere, the light, the lines, and the contrast between the reddish light and the black sky.
Take good care, see you again!

Hi David,
I think that ice cream is an amazing pacifier since your daughter allowed you the time this stunning photo, with a tripod no less. I'm always way too anxious about keeping others waiting to use a tripod, unless I'm alone. You all them all a big hug for the time to create this lovely photo.

Hi David,
This is an excellent work.
I really like the way you managed to get this - the resulting composition is fantastic.
What makes this image special are the upper truck lights - they frame the road lights perfectly and actually create another 'lane' which is parallel to the one on the ground.
These thin lights lead the eye to the distance and look like laser beams.
Regards to your little one :-)

You have hunted perfectly the lights and his effect of movement, with good technical and great patience.
I like it, is a very aesthetic photo, with great dynamism and a nice perspective.

Well done. Thanks to your daughter and her demand for ice cream, we have an excellent photo to enjoy. I hope you will never say "No" to your daughter, and will always have your camera and tripod available when you accomodate her wishes. Regards, Bulent (PS my apologies, but I had no green smileys left to award,)

Hi David. You must be a soft touch, mind you daughters know how to get dad’s on their side.;-) Great photo, I love the way the red lights frame the street lights. Strong diagonal element to the composition works well. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi David,
It was actually quite a brilliant idea to focus on tall vehicles, I like how their red lights frame the city lights perspective, also your framing is good to produce a dynamic convergence of lines in addition to the depth pf the perspective.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi David,
Happy you took your camera in the car, we see a fantastic result, 5 seconds this very long, so we see the long red lines these gives a excellent and splendid perspective, this absolutely great David, a little bit dangerous beside the way with your tripod and camera!

Hi David,
A very, very interesting picture. The trails of light are perfect, just as the vertical composition, The 5 sec works perfectly, great movement. I like these kind of pictures a lot...absolute great piece of work..!!

Excellent night view. The double serie of red trails, top and bottom, is surprising but very sucessfull, making like a corridor of light along the higway.
All the best,
Emmanuel

This is a great light trail shot David, although it would have been even better if you had taken it a bit earlier in the evening when there was a bit of colour in the sky.
What I like here especially is how the lines of the upper light trails follow and frame the line of street lights receding into the distance. This simple factor raises this head and shoulders above the usual light trail shots that I've seen recently.
Now, try again a bit earlier in the evening. I assure you it'll be worth it.
Cheers,
Ben

Hej David,
Excellent capture, it's just great to see the rays of light created by the traffic. The 'stars' of the streetlamps are great too. Very well done and thanks for sharing!

Hi David,
Nice photo,
I like what you did in this evening shot, nice POV chosen. Fine long exposure, I wonder how those higher two red stripes got there..did some truck pass by orso? Fine chosen aperture, good appearance on the lights. Nice composition, great depth in this photo!

Hi David, i love that one as i'm a lover of that kind of wall of lights, long shutter speed permits to catch what eyes can't see and that fascinate me. The cast is very red but on this full dark of the sky it creates a nice clash, very good technicity, i love how big is the star light.
Very nice job
