[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is actually the first picture in the series of the kestrels that I took.
This picture is a little bit different from the other, the sky are not charming, I admit, but the reason is the sun behind the kestrel, the advantage is that you can see the lovely colours and feather's shape and texture with great back light, I hope that you will love this version.

The sun is behind the kestrel but it gives a nice effect on its feathers. It is a very nice shot, Elroyie!

Excellent capture Elroyie and great effect with the sun behind the kestrel. Wonderful colours and sharpness - excellent job and thanks for sharing.

Excellent capture. This is a perfect creation from mother nature. I love the sun behind the bird and well done for catching it just in the right place without any blurriness.

I had a look at your other kestrel pictures and I think this is the best. The beautiful pattern of the feathers, the sun behind (better than the bird being behind the sun) and fast shutter time, make a great photo. I like it very much.

Great moment you capture Elroyie. I love the color tones of the bird.

Well done

Elroyie:

You are playing with my heart with these kind of pictures! I love them so much.

Very nice catch!!!
Lighting is perfect I think, it is an action photo, very dynamic!

Well done and thanks for sharing!

Kikvel

very nice work here, I like the direct below shot, very quick reflexes you have here, very well done with the shot. Great details too with the 1/3000 seconds

Well done again

Amazing shot and I love the detail. I almost get a stiff neck wanting to look up to this - Very well taken - Japie

PS

I hope you are not blinded or can you blink at 1/3000 too!

You're right, Elroyie, the backlight does a unique job of accentuating the elegant details of this bird. Great sharpness and color tones. Don't worry too much about the sky, nobody pays attention to it anyway :o)

You still retained some colour in the sky Elroyie and it works as a fine backdrop for the very well rendered kestrel, captured with a fine straight up angle. The result is very good - thru the backlight there's a marvellous translucency to the outer feathers. Great job.

Wonderful capture Elroyie - I often see this sight and been wanting to capture it - but the few times I got my camera ready, the bird always decided to move :-(

I like the light seen trough the feathers - fine work.

You are right about the sky. Here, it is only secondary. Besides, it don't show any unsightly noise. these are the details of the bird of prey that are highlighted. Light filtering through the feathers is superb! I also like the detail of the paws raised, for a better aerodynamics.
Excellent documentary photo, Elroyie.

The colors work well, including the gray sky behind the muted colors of the bird. I agree the details of the feathers, as well as the light shining through them make this a special image. Very nicely captured and rendered. I've been shooting with a friend's digital rebel over the last couple of days and it was a delight to be able to push the button and have the camera actually respond. I too took a photo of a bird in flight, something that was in the past more of a happy coincidence than a calculated attempt. This is a fine image Elroyie.

A beautiful capture of this falcon. The angle permits a very nice use of the sunlight, especially a the rear of the bird. Feathers are very well rendered and we can see a lot of details and the silhouette of the bird is very clear. Beautiful shot.

Your specialty!

Amazing clarity and well-captured. Ad astra...to the stars: both for your subject and to you: the artist.

Great capture, good sharp, splendid light and contrast.
