This artwork and street scene are in Petach Tikva ("Doorway to Hope"), a typical middle-class suburb in Israel (pop. 183,000).
40% of its population is religious and there is a sizable population of Russian immigrants.
The name was taken from the Bible, the prophecy of Hosea: "and I will give vineyards... for a doorway to hope"
Trivia for soccer fans: current Chelsea coach, Avram Grant, was born in this town.
