[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava has revolutionized the design of civil engineering projects. His unique, and highly influential style combines a striking style that interacts harmoniously with the principles of engineering. His work often draws on form and structure found in the natural world.

Major works include the Puente del Alamillo in Seville (built for Expo '92), the Communications Tower in Barcelona, the Haarlemmermeer bridges in Holland and many structures for the Athens Olympics; he has also designed the future traffic hub at the World Trade Center site in New York.

So one day I just happened to be stuck in a traffic jam precisely below a Calatrava-designed footbridge in a Tel Aviv suburb. From my POV within the car the bridge looked like going up, expanding towards the sky. Luckily I had the camera with me and a few precious seconds to take the shot.

If you look carefully it is possible to see the weak reflections of a couple of cars on the bridge floor.

BONUS -> STRANGE BUILDING: In the workshop I include another version, rotated 180 degrees, the bridge looks like a building, with the car reflections covering a large area of the 3rd and 4th "floors". I could have posted this one as the original version - so as to prepare a "surprise"!

Hej Daniel,
Great view of this bridge. I like the simple lines in this photo as well as the nice perspective. The couple of branches in the corner is also nice. Well done!

Hi Daniel,
An excellent perspective, with a great POV. A perfect contrast between the sky and the bridge with the transparent floor.
I like specially the detail of the plant with red flowers that it gives him many life to the set.
Santiago Calatrava is a very good architect, I like very much his works all over the world.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Daniel,
Your skill shows in this compo. As I'm driving along, I frequently think, "That would be a great shot;" You not only got the shot but focus lighting and color is superb in a difficult lighting situation. Your note strongly supports your photo.

A bonus indeed!! I appreciate seeing this graphic illustration of a changed POV.

hi daniel! :-)
now i know that traffic jams can be good. *g*
this is excellent for a "fast" unplanned shot.
the "workshop" is cool, too, the idea of a
building is maybe even better, because that
was actually the first idea i had when i
saw your photo.
well done, thor.
