Photographer’s Note

On the highway between Baghdad and Babylon lie the decaying remains of the former Iraqi military machine. There is a strecth where piles of neutralized vehicles line both sides of the road.

I asked my driver to stop on the way back to Baghdad from Babylon. I didn't realize the apparent danger while I was out there ignorantly snapping pictures. And then I turned around only to find that my driver that had followed me, and was behind me, covering with one of the automatic weapons. My associate, was in the car with the other automatic covering the street. They never questioned my want to go take some pictures. And they quitely protected me whole time I did. These are my Iraqi friends and companions. Bless thier hearts and their souls.
