Photographer’s Note
Said (pronounced sa-yeed) is an orphan. He frequents the hotel lobby, coffee shop and security entrances. A fixture here for the almost ten months that I have been here, he is known to all that stay at either of the two hotels.
On this night, I worked well into the early hours of the morning. When I arrived back at the hotel, Said and security guard (hahaha) we both fast asleep in front of the hotel. They never knew I took the picture and I let them alone to sleep.
Bless them both...

What a beautiful child, and though his story sounds quite sad you have presented it in a way that makes me smile. It sounds as though you may be able to add this young man to your expanding family of children in Baghdad. ;0)
I might try a tighter crop, to remove the area under the childs foot on the left of the frame and to place him a bit off center and maybe convert to Black and white. But, that is just me and we are both creative and your image is lovely on its own! I have done a workshop, hope you don't mind! Just so you can see what I see...
God Bless you Bill and please stay safe.

You never fail to move me, with your notes and very saying pictures. This fellow is a beauty and you're lucky to have gotten to know him, and him, you. And as Cathe says he must also be one of "your kids" now ;o) Good shot.
