Photographer’s Note
I'm back. Riding the cycles of my existance here and in the world, wondering if I should be writing a book or an obit. Doesn't really matter since I can't write.
I moved out of the confines of the hotel and into a house in the "red zone" due to the dramatically increased number of attacks. As it would be, I seem to have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. I am just emerging from the transition and appologize to those who have written expressing their concern and for my not responding...

An ever increasingly common situation throughout Iraq is to be stuck behind a patrol and when they stop, life as we know it stops. A flash of my badge and wave of consent from the troops allowed me to hop out and get this shot in the Al-Mansour neighborhood of Baghdad.

I'll be more and more out of the confines of Baghdad in the coming weeks to other popular attractions such as Baqubah, Tikrit, Mosul, Basra and possibly even Ramadai. Wish me luck and be looking for them exclusive pics, compliments of yours truly..... BE

Glad to see you back! Like the fact this was taken from up close: adds to the perspective and makes us feel the moment.
Frank.

Hi Bill, glad to hear form you again. I agree with Cathe here that B&W is a good choice. Interesting note and illustrative shot. A lot of interest in this clear well composed shot. To be really picky on the tech, maybe the contrast could be slightly higher.

Hello Bill, sooo happy to see you are back. Where have you been, taking vacation in Bassra? While it was still safe with the Brits...
You mean theese big guys are your friends? Well, better be your friends...Scary!
After you, Monsieur....
I like the black and white attitude, here, it looks more like "war-photography" in its classical way. I'll help you write this book, if you can't write because why go to theese "popular attraction spots" you mention if it is not for writing a book? Don't tell me you're addicted to stress and looking for new adventure.

Hi Bill!
It's nice to see all of your pictures. They give us different view from the usual pictures from the professional photojournalist. Keep posting.. Take care!

Love the little ads that come up on the sidebar to the left - Sipping to Baghdad and a report no the Iraq oil industry! Odd, nothing about hotels and tourism...
Nice photo - take care. You still in Iraq?
