[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
while cruising at 32,000ft (about 6miles up)heading to New York the Capitan asks me,
'hay Robert how come woman in your countries cover up?'

i answer, 'cause we figured it out, we understood womans power over man and we wrapped them, hid their beauty from the unworthy but for our eyes only, the woman understood this too, they took pity on us and agreed to wear the veil, to make men wounder, to make them look at woman like a mystery novel always inquiring to what lies beneath, whats there waiting for me and me only, haven't you ever anticipated xmas to open your presents, well then in the middle east xmas is a 365 days a year only difference might be the wrappings, most come in black to hide the true vividness of the olive skin against those hazel eyes, didn't you know the ozone is dissapearing and skin cancer increasing, not were we live even if its near the equator, the veil protects, it maintains the chemistry of the flesh, you might even mistaken it for a spring breeze, it still holds its moisture, you can only find that out when you touch, if you are lucky to touch since experiencing beauty is never easy or free, its earned and labored throe, you must win the mind and soul to uncover your limitless joy, for when you have done so you must have exhausted your self to win her heart and by the time you captured her you would have run out of energy to go after another, see.... shes no game, nor will accept to be on a score board to impress your friends, shes an Arabian woman, she will only uncover to the most worthy, like a legend, often spoken of but never discovered, her fore fathers influenced nations and her sons started civilizations, propaganda will have you believe she lives in a fascist state controlling her will, its okay i only know her secrets, secrets that will take a lifetime to discover, the veiled woman knows how to sway her man, all she needs is a breeze from the northern winds to blow the cashmere covering her hair and the man will hail victorious for he has lived his life twice over!'

Good color contrast, nice portrait overall. But looking to your others pics (CONFIDENT BEAUTY & no comment) it's 3x the same woman, no?

Hi Robert. Always direct and thought provoking. I wonder if this photo will vanish too before long. I understand your sentiments. Are these your words? They are a homage to women and their beauty, but in a way they do show how weak men are since they need women's pity so that they can function. Greetings from a place where there is not much mystery left.Klaudio.

This shot jumped out at me when browsing your gallery, Robert, as I've never seen a woman wearing a red and white shemagh in the Middle East before (only men) but I haven't been to Iraq, so maybe women wear it in your country as well as men. Or maybe you've only dressed your model in this for impact (which this portrait certainly has). The desaturated face is a good effect although it does make the image look a little like a montage. Robert,
As much as i like the portrait I as a woman can't agree with your point of view. It's not up to men to decide whether women should be covered up or not. If a woman chooses to cover herself then and only then it should be fine. If she'd rather use a sun-proof and goggles she should be free to have no covers. Women are not Xmas gifts to which you compare us in your note.
Why don't you cover yourself all the time so that we could wonder what's underneath?

WOW!! your note is a big tribute to the physical and inner beauty of women... almost feel like a poem. Yet, I don't agree with the title... it takes away from the beauty of the portrait itself.
