[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this picture (my first posting to TrekEarth) while at Al Asad Air Base in Iraq. It is considered a place of great interest because, as the tradition goes, Abraham stopped here to water his animals and to rest his entourage on the way to the Promised Land. It represents a striking contrast to the parched desert land surrounding the site. It is spring-fed, the wandering Euphrates River now some three miles away to the north.

This is a great shot to begin with here at trekearth. The view is a heart taker and you have managed to capture every detail from clouds to the flowers and water reflections. Very well done!

it is a very nice pov and compo. I liked the way you put the plam trees, the clouds and the flowers in the foreground. I think colors aren't the best, maybe an option for B&W could be more dramatic. anyway it is a marvelous landscape of this painfull country
