A star lit sky, a pregnant silence, panoramic views, mirages, the black and white sands, tall sand pyramid and salty earth are some of the characteristics that one can witness only in desert regions.

The big desert of Lut with the area of 5400 km2 is situated in the east and southeast of Iran .In a major part of this desert, there is no animal and vegetable life of any kind. The very beautiful and typical phenomena abound in this desert.

Lut enjoys 3 probably 4 universal records:

The longest widespread system of kalouts /yardangs in the world (120 km long in 80 km wide).
The tallest sand pyramid of the world (nearly 500 M high)
The hottest point of the world (based on the studies on the satellite images and data).
The biggest nebkas in the world (most probably)

In terms of temperature, Shahdad desert in Kerman with a temperature of 70 degrees centigrade accounts for thermal pole of the earth.

A trip to the uncharted desert and the fantastic city of Kalouts ( not a real city ofcourse; it looks like a city from the distance ) is a special treat ,cherished by everyone who likes to see different displays of nature.

I was standing on a tall sand structure when I took this shot !

Hello Atousa,
Just absolutely amazing capture. Who would think landscapes like this are from our Earth, looks more like Mars. The detail and colours you have here are sensational You add so much to this landscape with your composition, the foreground rocks, diagonal lines and far off horizon facinate the eye. Great shot.

Salaam Atousa
I think this is the first picture I am seeing from this place. Very nice depiction of the desert natural formations of the these cone like structures, well composed in a diagonal. We can see two ant like people, which really allows us to understand the massive scale of these formations. I’ve learnt something new today, thanks to your post.

Salam Atousa,
Impressive! I have a special fascination for deserts, although I only know a few spots of them in North Africa. Here you chose a very good POV that allowed you a great compo, with the hill and the trek on the lower diagonal half and the hills on the right BG giving a very nice balance. Great colours also.
I didn't know about the records of that desert, namely of its total absence of life.
TFS, Regards, José.

Hi Atousa, just amazing landscape! Great POV and photo quality!

Salam Atousa. Striking topography and vivid colours. Nicely balanced shot where the foreground formation is echoed in the distance. Fascinating orange shapes stand clearly against the blue sky. Well done and thanks for the information. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Atousa,
A barren but beautiful landscape. Great colors of the soil & sand. You got a good POV from this height giving us depth & a panoramic view of the landscape. Salam. Latiff.

Hello Atousa,a great POV.
I read your very interesting notes and it has really helped me to appreciate this view.
It is certainly a different type of desert to the ones I have seen before.
Excellent DoF.

Fantastic place! And your beautiful shot captured the mood very well, one can see how great would be such a visit! The placement of the sand structures in the shot is just perfect. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Atousa,

In this image, somewhat evocative of the American Southwest, you've presented a simple but elegant composition. If you were to change the color of the sky — no blue, but a little pink — you could palm the image off as a view of Mars. Your note is superlative.

Warm regards,

Bulent

Hi Atousa,

Recently, I review some photographers archive. Fortunately, I found continues improvement in your works each day. Congratulations for that.
This shot is one of the best . Specially its theme which reminds me MARS surface.

Hello Atousa:

The scenery is splendid, given the powerful tones that show.

Details of the few rock formations, notable for their sharpness, the infinite depth of field, contrasts wonderfully with a clear sky, clean and clear. But I am sure if something: that he could not live in a place like this, despite its lush beauty.

Thank you for visiting my gallery and allowing me to know yours.

Greetings from Colombia, garden americas.

John
