[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A very kind old man in a traditional market near my hotel at Laleh Tehran. He spoke English quite well. A piece of paper attached to his small stall described him as a computer trainer, specialized in creating 2D graphics, and yet he was still making his own shoes.

I spotted many interesting details and asked his permission for taking picture.

Any comment would be appreciated.

Thanks.

As an Iranian I should say, he really looks like an Iranian artist ... In Iranian literature, there are numerous examples of Iranian scientists, philosophers, ... who found being lonely, hiding somewhere quiet, ... very attractive ... They were looking for a quiet place just to think and they just RAN AWAY from daily life, got into caves, traveling in deserts, spent most of their lives in jungles , ... Maybe he is one of them who just ran away from a real modern Iranian type of life to a shoe making small shop to just take his time to think ... or maybe he ran away from the people around ... I don't know if this piece of note would help you understand him but I really don't know ... It's a big history and a big cultural reasons behind some stuffs ...

about your shot, I'd love if you would capture more details of the walls behind him, but still it is a nice portrait :-)

TFS,

Shahab,

P.S. : I suggest you look at this post@ wiki, but this one covers the religious ones not the general ones : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darvish
