An old door with surrounding tileworks, Golestan palace.
This door is located in the south eastern corner of the complex and seems to be built during the reign of Nasser-eddin shah Qajar. The royal guard, as shown on the tiles, is holding the Royal mace of the Qajar kings. A similar jewelled mace is now kept in the Museum of Crowm Jewels of Iran. |
