20 March will be start for Iranian new year.

the calendar in Iran is like Anno Domini,it's not like Anno Hegirae.
In Iran region, beginning of spring is 20 March, and it's first day of "Farvardin" month.
Iran will goes to "1387" which has a root like Anno Hegirae, but it's "Anno Shamsie" based on solar system.

Also, before Islamic revolution in 1979,Iran has An Another Anno Shamsie which was based on first Kingdom in Iran in 2557 years ago,and we used that calendar, too.

The celebration of new year is not a street celebration, all will be in their home, together and sit around a table and in a special time that will say by media and all know it,the new year will begin.

The Red Fish is one of great element which all the people buy a couple of those and will have it in the table.
Although I have written about Iranian new year a few years ago in my posts, but I will say more about the old celebration next.

Happy Spring :)

Hi Mohammad

There's something fishy about this shot, lol. I like the warm cold colour contrast, between the orange tails / fins, & the blue tinted water. Good sharpness & tight framing. Tfs!

Hi Mohammad,

Excellent picture wuth great graphic effect. The framing just including the fises tales was a creative idea. The blue background helps to enhance the effect and to attract the eyes.

I saw a film a few years ago, about a boy and a red fish... Which was the title? I dont remember right now... Oh yes! "Bacheha-Ye aseman" in english "Children of heaven", wonderful one indeed. This quite a poetic wat to begin the year, as poetic as your photo. I wish you a happy new year, so to your beloved so to all of us. Take care and enjoy the celebration.

Hello Mohammad,
First I wish you and your family a very good, healthy, and happy New Year. The photo is very colourful and has beautiful fish.
Kind regards,
Frieda.

Hi Mohammad,
a very informative note that shows that so common things as a date are not so fixed and can be seen from another point of view. The pic made me curious also, at first sight I thought it shows flowers; very colourful and sharp, good composition.
Compliments, Chris

Hello Mohammad! The festivities have already started but I hope it is not too late to wish you a Happy New Year, bringing wonderful moments for you and your family. I like the mood in your photo with the colorful fish tails "hanging" down making a wonderful contrast to the otherwise blue. My working colleague was married to someone from your country and they are still good friends and they also have a son together. She told me yesterday that they were coming together to have a big meal with other relatives and she sometimes tells me what you eat and I am writing down what I can to try it out later. All my best, it snows in Switzerland ... winter has gone, spring has arrived ... now that we want spring winter has come back ... it is never right. Barbara.

Hello
A very nice composition with clear water and perfect focus and colours.
interesting note too.
Best regards
Jmarc

Good evening Muhammet, I did not know Iran has a different calendar. When I first saw it I had thought it is Nevruz (which is not new year but new spring in Turkey). It is nice to learn new things and anchor it to the mind with such a nice picture. I could never forget the red fish symbol for Iranian new year now.
I would also thank you to make me see the theme of cable cars.

Erdogan

Hi Mohammad,
Strong symbolism in these fish tails... i like the transparence of the fins here! And also the special "New Year" framing! It has some spots on the blue surface, maybe some dirt in the aquarium?
;D
