Marvi Alley is more than 70 years old and is located in the 12th district of Tehran Municipality. Its an original, old area in southern Tehran and is recently reconstructed in a way that visitors will get a feeling of old Tehran when they pass through the alley.
Marvi canton is apart of Odlajan canton and Odlajan canton is among the five different cantons of old Tehran (Qajar era).
There are several old buildings in this alley such as high school, water reservoir, mosque _its door is seen in the shot and called "Agha Mahmoud Masjed (mosque) " written in one of the styles of Persian calligraphy ( Nasta'ligh) _ and so on.
Its also a shopping center and a crowded place ; except in weekends (Friday) which I took this shot .

Salam Atousa,
I am amazed by the light management: it looks like a very challenging situation that you tamed very well. I fact, besides the irresistible charm of the architecture, the light is one of the appeals of the photo. Very nice POV.
TFS, Regards, José

Salam Atousa!

I love Iran pictures and this one is no exception! I think a great location, good lighting and the design on the walls is very interesting. Well done.

Hi Atousa

Salam Atousa. Nice to see that you are posting some urban shots of Iran. Great light control here and lovely sense of depth. I am unsure if the balloon is part of a mural or is reflected.i think it's a painting as it appears a little flat. How I would love to be strolling there. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Atousa,
Good POV ... the road has a nice effect ... it leads the viewer's focus towards the end of the alley way. Nice intricate brick pattern and the repeating arches. Well composed! tfs
Cheers,
Renier

Hello Atousa. The photo gives an idea of a road to this old city. The details are worth seeing. Pictures of this city particularly interest me, since I will be in October (with a travel's group) for one day in Tehran. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Salam Atousa,
Nice architecture and also the huge paintings on the walls have their particular style. The strong difference in light between shade and sunny parts is well controlled with good detail in both.
It looks like most people are inside the Mosque at the time.
Greetings
Laurent

You've captured this scene well. The picture draws the viewers eyes from the right to the left and towards the gate. There's some interesting detail in the shot and the light is good. I think It would be more interesting if this scene was filled with people doing something. Just a thought.

Dear Atousa,

This shot has a lovely perspective and the details of the buildings that surround the alley are captured just perfectly. The light seems so magical, and the inclusion of the people just ahead offers great scale. Wonderful shot indeed.

This photo is very interesting - your note as well, I like the warm colours and the surprising murals, this time nothing to do with the Islamic Revolution : hot air balloon and arches painted on walls, plus a horse walking on the roofs :)) Great and original !
Tabrik migam,
Best regards,
Cath.

Hi Atousa!
This is really Iranian architecture.Very good pov, to show this street. I like the details, the wonderful light and especially those persons that are following at the end of the street.

Hello, Atousa -

Great light management, and interesting use of curves. The people at the end of the curve are an important touch - the more so since you say the place is mostly empty on Friday.

Regards,
Dan

Hi Atousa,
so many interesting things to discover in your gallery ! And this one makes me curious to discover Tehran some day.. the light is excellent here, well balanced. Compliments, Chris

Hallo Atousa!
An interesting and beautiful architecture - all built out of bricks. I like the light of the deep sun which emphasizes the peaceful atmosphere in a beautiful way.
Greetings from - today - very stormy and rainy Germany!
Have a nice day!

I see from your intro that you do Persian caligraphy, that must be very beautiful and interesting.

I really like the contrast between the cool shadows and the warm light. The two people at the end of the alley give the photo some life, but I like the overall deserted look and feel of this photo. Very peaceful.

Ryan

Ola Atousa
Very good perspective here. Excellent details, warm light and colours.
TFS and greetings

Hi Atousa,
A capture in the which shows a true of show of lights very well controlled. The colors are dynamic and the different textures in this picture the most attractive clue the capture.
Well done, Regards, Consuelo

Unlike other photos os Tehran I've seen, this one shows an authentic old structure, great low light, and the streets are so clean.

Hello Atousa. Excellent capture of this alley. I like the glow toward the end provides stunning contrast and exposing good detail of the texture of the architecture. The intricate design at the entrance of the mosque is really artistic. If my Arabic did not disappoint me, the Khat is written as Masjidil-Aqa-Mahmood. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hello Atousa

Asalam-o-Alaikum,

I only did a little bit of Khatati on a Takhtee using a Qalam and Dawaat when I was a little kid, the script that is widely taught in Pakistan is Nasta'liq as well.

I am interested to know why some phonetics are different in Farsi, such as Aaqa, is writeen using a "Qa'af" and yet you write it with a "Ga'af" sound.

Nice shot though. the PoV is nice and gives a sense of depth. The reflection on the Mehrab is good too.

Thanks for sharing

Wasalam
Kamran
