Darakeh is one of the many spots that people can go for a soft or hard hike depending on how far they wish to walk. It is a popular place all year around and especially in summer evenings for people to go and enjoy the nice air.

There are three main paths into the mountains in the north of Tehran where some people flock at weekends . Reaching the Touchal peak Touchal : Roof of Tehran is possible from each of these 3 paths which are called : 1-Touchal , 2- Darband , 3- Darakeh

Darakeh-this shot was taken there -starts in the narrow roads of an aged suburb shaded by tall trees and cut in two by a gushing stream that accompanies the walking path all the way up to near the peak. The path never gets wide enough to allow more than four people to walk abreast .

There are some teahouses in Darakeh that one can order tea, dates , adasi (lentil soup ) ,... ; also other trades such as selling books, cotton garments, sunglasses , hats,... almost at the beginning of the path; for the the crowds thin out slowly as one gets higher .

I took this shot in a cold foggy day which everywhere was covered by ice and snow. Hope you like it.

Hi Atousa,
Thanks for showing the winter scenery in Iran. Looks very cold for a long walk. The trees & foot tracts in the snow are interesting points of interest.

Salam.

Salam Atousa,
We can see how cold the Iranian winters are here, and a nice view at the snowy nature with mist blurring the BG... you almost could have converted in black and white!
Have a nice time
Laurent

Salam Atousa. Sounds like a lovely place to walk, with a lovely atmosphere created by the teahouses selling refreshment. Nice winter scene. I might be wrong, but i think I can make out a few abandoned nests in the forks of branches. All the best . Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Atousa,

Very beautiful shot of this nice place. It great to see the mist in the distance and with all the animal traces on the snow, I can feel the wildness of the place and the crispness of the air. Great shot indeed. Hope to see it one day soon.

Hi Atousa,

There is a wonderful sense of dimension through the fog very nice .. I love the little tracks in the water .. I wish the plants were not covering the mountains so much .. beautiful place .. very nice image in the hard to control contrasts of winter.

take care,

John

Ciao Atousa,
it is difficult to think that in iran us it can be the snow.
thanks in order to have to us shown it.
good job
Giorgio

Hello Atousa,
very appealing shot with its beautiful cold atmosphere enhanced by the fog in the bg. The winter scenario is nice to look at with the trace on the snow adding a focal point to the compo.
Thanks for sharing it and regards

Igor

Hi Atousa,
Our latest images have a lot in common.I must admit I'm a real fan of winter scenes as i like how the snow dramatically changes the contours and shape of the land making it almost unrecognizable. This one is nicely composed with the cliff leading up to the right and the depth slowly shrouded by the fog.Very nice.....TFS.

I never think of Iran having winters like Canada but here it is. This could easily be in the Rockies. Nicely done.

Hi Atousa,
Frankly, I don't think that it is so punchy or attractive at first sight, but I I admire the compo, that achieves a subtle charm and elegance that along with the wintry atmosphere makes it a remarkable photo.
Regards, José.

Hello Atousa,
Snow in Tehran is something that I thought would not be possible, Beautiful winter looking scene. Interesting note thank you for showing.
