| Nun is dirt cheap and comes in four different varieties:thin LAVASH is great but quckly turns cardboardy, crisp salty BARBARI is more like Turkish bread,TAFTUN is crisp with a ribbed surface, and the last my favorate is SANGAK a long thick and baked on a bed of stones. It's a lot of fun when they take the SANGAK out of the oven you have to "yourself" shake the bread or use a stick to get the pebbles out of the dough.Cost of bread is between 2 and 5 cents which is the cheapest NUN i have ever come across in my travels.I found this little girl early in the morning at the bakery in the old city of Yazd,She was really thrilled about getting her picture taken. |
