. .Tent at Mountain. .
-About The Location:
Mount Tochal is a mountain in the Alborz Chain Mountains range and adjacent to metropolitan Tehran, Iran. The mountain has a 12 km long ridgeline. The highest peak, also called Mount Tochal, is at an elevation of 3,964 m (13,005 feet) and at coordinates 35.88° N 51.42° E. A seven station gondola lift runs from Tehran to the Tochal Ski Resort and a modern hotel. Tochal is a popular recreational region for Tehran's residents.
Tochal has a long gondola lift which begins from Velenjak valley at 1900m and ends in the last station at 3740m near the main ridge of Tochal. This gondola lift is used for accessing ski resorts and other recreational centers on the mountain. The gondola lift has four stations:
Station 1 is at an elevation of 1900m and located at the beginning of Velenjak valley (end of Velenjak Street). Parking, inns and some other facilities are available.
Station 2 is at 2400m and has very limited facilities.
Station 5 is at 2935m. There is a restaurant and a rescue center. This station is in the middle of one of the ski slopes which is open only in mid winter. This station is also accessible through several climbing paths like Shirpala shelter, Osoon valley and Palang-chal shelter.
Station 7 is at 3740m and very close to the Tochal main ridge. It is the last station of the gondola lift. This station is in the middle of the Tochal ski slope. The Tochal main peak is two hours walk from this point. This station is also reachable from Hezar-cham climbing path from Station 5. [Courtesy of Wikkipedia.] (for more information please check http://www.tochal.org/en/)
Out of the three main Iranian ski resorts of Tochal, Dizin and Shemshak, Tochal ski resort is the least developed, offering fewer runs than the others. In its favour, Tochal is the closest ski resort to Tehran and it is possible to catch a cable car to Tochal from the northern suburbs of Tehran, making it popular with daytrip skiers based in Tehran. Four ski lifts are waiting to take to up the slopes from where you disembark from the cable car.
At over four miles long, the cable car from Tehran to Tochal is one of the longest and highest in the world. It has a huge vertical climb of 6,036 feet and reaches a height of 12,270 feet. There are seven stations on the cable cars route; Tochal ski resort is at the seventh station. The longest ski run at Tochal ski resort is a long U-shaped slope that goes from the last station to the fifth station. To the north of the seventh station there are two ski slopes served by chairlifts that reach to just below the summit at 12,795feet high. Behind the Tochal Hotel there are another couple of slopes served by T-bars. Due to the altitude, the ski season at Tochal is longer than at most resorts and thanks to the dry atmosphere, the quality of the snow here is good. It is often clear and sunny here, allowing visitors to enjoy spectacular views of the 18,605-foot high extinct volcano, Mount Damavand and the Alborz mountain range. (Courtesy of www.summitpost.org).
-Motivation:
After touching the fifth station at Tochal and some rest at camp I came out and spent about one hour and half for taking some pictures around.
I choose this one to share with my TE friends.
The orange lonely tent, the snow surrounding and deep blue sky were major elements on my mind when taking this picture.
-P.P. Job
I made Auto Adjustments on Curve, Contrast and layer properties in Photoshop CS2, and also added the frame.
Hope you enjoy it.
Javad.

Salam Javad,
Much inspired use of the shape of the mountains, the lines on the snow and the color contrast to make a very attractive photo. The luminosity it's wonderful - the tonality of the darker areas of the snow is amazing; how did you do it? Masterful use of polarizer?

Hi Javad,
The red tent and the deep blue sky really stand out well against the white snow. I like the layers of the mountains and the tracks in the snow.

Salam Javad,
This is a great shot and although the narrative note is great, the picture tells a story all by itself. Great composition and colors. Well done.

Red tent presents good visual impact even though centered. Slightly underexposed. Well done otherwise. Regards,

Hi Javad,
your "motivation" worked perfectly .... the sense of small humanity in this vast empty place is so perfect .. the season is perfect .. you composition of it is wonderful.

Excellent work Dear Javad. Your shot conveys well the crisp air of snow and the joy of loneliness in such a wide space! Excellent sharpness.

Hi Javad.
Very good exposure (not so easy because of the reflections over the snow) and also a beautiful place (for me snow is always beautiful... then is not difficult).
Well done.

Hi Javad,
A fine composition with good shapes and tones. The lone red tent certainly gives us an idea of scale, the place is huge! It looks fantastic but too high and too cold for me! A great capture my friend, well done.

Wonderful picture of this great expanse of a snowy mountain. The little red tent down in the basin increases the immensity even more, and at the same time, is like a humorous nod.
I admire the brave people who decided to camp there. Good on them.
I also didn't realise that there was all this snow around Tehran. One learns everyday on TE.
