A nice POV and compo of that killer weed that, it is true looks good although it is harmful to the ecosystem, just like the water hyacinth is in East Africa, Good colors, sharpness and a nice mist on the hills behind.
Too bad there is that high power line, but you cant do anything about that !!

Well Asana I would consider this a terrible crisis! Why are there no controls in place to prevent this from happening? I do love the deep red color but imagine the fish have a hard time surviving in this lake. What a shame!

Quite interesting and colorful!

Here in the Dominican Republic, we sometimes have similar problem in the main river of Santo Domingo, but the "lilas" are bright green, and not soooooo numerous as your red weeds. Is an interesting idea, I'll take note for a future ocassion. Thanks, Asana, hope to see more of your work!

Bonjour Asana,
A colorful weed which looks nice, but in realty it is a killer as you explained in your note. The water Hyacinth is another one,and its rapid proliferation in the Lake Victoria Basin during the 1990’s caused serious environmental and socio-economic problems that required serious attention...
Good POV and nice contrast as well...

An interesting documentary shot, Asana. Environmental degradation often makes for striking photographs - and in some cases, as you have illustrated very well with this image, colourful too - but it is sad that the relevant authorities in all but the most environmentally aware countries take so long to recognise that it is problem.
