It's 9th picture in the serie .
Abyaneh has a compact fabrication with narrow and steep alleys. Set on the slope of the mountain, the houses are arranged in a stair-step shape, so that the mountain, the houses are the yards of the others.
The materials used for building the roofs are timbers, straw and clay.
The walls, built by red mud/clay bricks are impressive.
The mud bricks are of quality that become harder when they are exposed to the rain.To use the sun as much as possible, the houses face the east.
Abyaneh has been registered as a historical village by the UNESCO.

hi mohammad, marvellous composition, i like this view where the houses look like being a part of the mountains and inevitable "brick" in the landscape, while the moon is a watchdog over that unesco treasue
take care, jerzy

Bonsoir mon ami Mohammad,
J'ai raté quelques photographies pendant mon absence !
Very well done.
MoosicMan (1231) 2005-04-26 15:14
A very nice shot indeed. The colors and composition are quite nice, and it was thoughful of you to include the moon! These homes remind me of adobe construction used in the American southwest.
nwoehnl (122) 2005-04-26 15:25
Very nice framing for this one, Mohammad, with a good use of horizontal/vertical shapes (housing), diagonals (mountain slope) and a fun detail of the moon in the outermost corner. Beautiful light and excellent colors, well done.
toni_al (15875) 2005-04-26 17:30

ChrisJ (112315) 2005-04-27 3:37
I love the inclusion of the moon top right. Good colour, sharpness, & lighting. The parallel diagonals of the roof tops & background hill are also well seen.
jmdaoudal (82) 2005-04-27 4:08
All perfect light on the building faces. Well done with the balance from the elements in the composition with houses/mountain/sky.
Nice architecture and very informative.
I also went back to the firsts from the serie, and this is the occasion to compliment again on what you have shown from there.
I like it
Mafo (1339) 2005-04-27 4:29
Another good photo of the Red Willage!
I like a contrast of colors of a shouses and stone, and blue sky! I like a moon in the right corner!

Another Great shot in this Serie and Theme. Diagonal composition, excelent management of light, a nice moon in the upper right corner and many nice details in this lovely composition.
Very well done!
Best Regards to you the Great!

Hi Mohammad, This picture has answered my question of why this place is called Red Village. An excellent composition to have the sky and the rest of the picture divide the photo area diagonally. The blue sky makes a perfect contrast to the red hill and the red buildings. The moon is an extra bonus to this photo. Well done.
Kenny10pin (19301) 2005-04-27 12:09
interesting work here, I like the moon in this shot along with the matching houses, very nicely put together, well done
ChristianS (2997) 2005-04-27 12:25
Hi Mohammad, beautiful photo and a nice setting with the adjacent cliffs, well composed and nice perspective. The tones of the houses are very appealing and similar to the cliffs in the background and both elements are creating a strong contrast to the blue sky. The inclusion of the moon in the upper corner is a nice touch. Well done!
jhm (151446) 2005-04-27 12:26
Dear Mohammad, I like the specially construction of the houses, I like this red colour of the houses and the rocks on blue background. Its there sometimes earthquakes in this region Mohammad?
You have chosen a good angle tazking this shot. Well seen!
alvaraalto (10616) 2005-04-27 17:32
The houses seems to be built of the same material of the rocks. These houses look to me not very old and still on the historical village list?
maphoto (8082) 2005-04-27 23:54
Excellent contrast Mohammad, it is rare to see the moon on the top like this, but working very well in you photo, very nice framing and number one quality photo, well done.
RGatward (20086) 2005-04-28 0:41
Back there again! Beautiful framing with the moon top right. Good use of the strong diagonal.
jrj (34843) 2005-04-28 4:24
The red village with the hanging moon. Well just a very good compo, fine details, great presentation. Well seen, good job M.

Very interesting architecture, well composed Mohammad.
johnhopkins (866) 2005-04-28 13:50
The colours, the composition and the great diagonal here are just perfect. A wonderful sharpness too. The moon and vivid blue sky are nice, but i think the red village and its wonderful rocky backdrop are what really catch the eye.
chinchini (31529) 2005-04-28 13:56
nilolabrador (1469) 2005-04-28 14:45
Beautiful architecture. Many western architects should come to see this red village. The shot is perfect in his colors
compo and...., the moon.
oochappan (16355) 2005-04-28 19:04
Perfectly seen with the moon in this blue sky contrasting the red houses and the mountains, dividing the compo with a diagonal, very well done Mohammad.
efimoore (2126) 2005-05-01 0:37
Nice view of the red Village. With such a blue sky it’s a surprise to see the moon. But the moon really makes the picture ‘pop’ and steal the show…
Jeppe (18654) 2005-05-02 6:59
Very nicely composed image - I like the diagonal line of the horizon and the sight of the moon to fill in.
The name of this village made clear by you fine capture.
azadys (717) 2005-05-02 15:05
composition , DOF and color is great. i like the moon on the top-right.
Didi (60588) 2005-05-03 15:58
Still a beautiful image of this old village which merges with the mountain. It seems to to me that there is iron oxide in the stone. The full moon decorates this composition perfectly; it is the "cherry on the cake" (French term).
PixelTerror (0) 2005-05-04 3:40
Very nice view here, maybe framed a bit tight (personnally I like to see the base of the houses) but with fantastic colors, the composition also benefits much from the moon's inclusion.
Have a nice day,
bazal (7900) 2005-05-04 4:57
It's a pleasure to discover this shot in your collection. The village is nice and its red color is close to this of the surrounding mountains. The light was wonderful and the contrast with the pure blue sky is great. It's nice to see the moon in the upper right corner ! Great shot, Mohammad !
pamastro (7290) 2005-05-05 1:19
Not only are they part of the mountain with their stair step shape but they blend in with the mountain. It all looks very natural. The view here is impressive for that and the feel of closeness and verticality. The moon certainly adds an excellent touch at the top along with the blue of the sky. Everything draws the eyes upward, step by step along the tops of the buildings then the mountain and then to the moon and starting over again. You really got a lot into this very nice and controlled shot
john_c (24666) 2005-05-05 10:14
Well balanced shot. Excellent composition, good colours. This is a real prize, Mohammad. You have captured the village well. Regards.
loupiot (3909) 2005-05-11 10:23
LEA (4984) 2005-05-16 5:53
What I appreciate the most in this picture is the moon in the top right corner. You did a good job because the Moon is also well exposed and is not only a white circle. Congratulations
PJE (20758) 2005-06-04 0:11
Very nice setting. Hi there I saw your name on another Trek posting and thought a fellwo with so many points would have some nice photos. And I am right. I like your shots..this one impresses me with balance and having the moon on the upper right makes this a really nice capture. If you ever want to see what British Columbia looks like check out some of my photos. Most all my shots are taken within 25km from home.
fadingstar78 (420) 2006-01-12 12:32
what a great pic. The moon is just perfect in that corner. I want to travel to Iran...
