Photographer’s Note

It is another view of Ovan lake . After passing a mountainous road, we reach to this alpine lake which is beautiful in 4 seasons of the year. No tributary flows to the lake, but the water sources are several springs at the bottom of the lake. The lake is also surrounded by three small villages that one of them is seen in the shot.
The lake can be accessed by a vehicle and is a good place for camping and fishing.

Beautiful view of the Ovan Lake. Fine POV and details. I like this perspective with the tree and grass in foreground. The fog or cloudy sky and the reflections are very good

It is amazing how we can have misconception ideas about so many places in this world. For me, Iran is a dry country with plenty of desert areas, mostly arid and brown. However, in this photo, you are showing us a beautiful green scenery where trees and water play a main role. Your photo is excellent and the place seams to be wonderful and very peaceful. Thanks for teaching me something new today.

What a place, Atousa, and the photo is so special... the atmosphere being calm and the soft light, with those clouds so soft, too!
I noticed that in Iran there are many poplars, a tree that I like a lot. I can see them on the other shore of the lake, near the village. I've got one in my little garden-courtyard (boq? bog? bâq?) and is very tall, with the wind its leaves sound lovely.
The color of the mountain, so red (it isn´t red exactly, I don´t know the word in english, we say "granate", from the fruit "granada") is fantastic, I like the contrast with green, and you show this colors in other good and nice photos.
I noticed too that there are many houses with blue roofs in many villages in the north of Iran.

Salaam Atousa,
It's just sooo beautiful.... Like a forgotten Shangri-La in the middle of the mountains covered by low clouds, but with a wonderful luminosity that makes the smooth palette of colours outstanding. You chose the PoV very well and achieved a great compo. I like how the different round layers are gently separated, by the reeds on the FG, then by the lake border, then the slope and finally the clouds.

Hi Atousa!

At fist look the composition seems a little squeezed, because of the reeds that surround the lake from both sides but that feature itself directs our eyes to the opening in the middle and like a boat, we sail on the lake and reach the small village at the shore! Great shot, lovely view.

The picture is well framed on top by the cottony clouds, and on the left by the tree trunks. You didn't have the most favorable weather, but colors and contrast are quality.

Lovely view of the lake with some good reflections. Even the houses are reflected in the water. The whole image converys an air of serenity.

I love the layering in this photo. Your POV leads the eye through the marsh grass into the calm lake, and up the mountainside into the misty clouds. I also like the clarity in the reflections and appreciate the texture of the tree bark and grasses against the silvery smooth water in the foreground. Thank you!
