Photographer’s Note
Falak-ol-Aflak Castle , in ancient times was known as Dežbār as well as Shāpūr-Khwāst, is one of the most impressive castles in Iran. It is situated on the top of a large hill with the same name within the city of Khorramabad, the regional capital of Lorestan province. This gigantic structure was built during the Sassanid era (226–651).
The Khoramabad River runs past the eastern and south-western side of the Falak-ol-Aflak hill providing the fortress with an element of natural protection. Today, the western and northern sides of the hill are bordered by the residential districts of Khorramabad.
Falak ol-Aflak castle is amongst the most important structures built during the Sassanid era. It has been known by a number of names since it was built over 1800 years ago. Recorded names have referred to it as Shapur-Khast or Sabr-Khast fortress, Dezbaz, Khoramabad castle, and ultimately the Falak ol-Aflak Castle.

Salut Iman, un point de vue peu commun, mais j'aime bien, par contre le cadre transparent n'est pas génial, bravo. JO

Hi Iman,
Wonderful perspective! From this angle the castle looks as menacing and imposing as the stormy sky. A very effective picture.

This is a really dramatic view of the Castle (plus, I've been there!). I love how you've creatively put the four elements together in the composition: the trees, the sky, the castle and the rock are positioned in a way that adds loads of drama to this ferrytale like ancient site. Well done!

Its the light, the light! It brings the picture together focusing on the castle by making the contrast with the clouds and foreground. Great powerful shot.
