Abadan Museum.
The museum was inaugurated in 1959 with 70 ancient works. It underwent renovation in 1995. The height of its ceiling was reduced to six meters from eight meters previously.
Some 150 historical relics are being preserved here.
Two jugs are the most ancient pieces showcased at the museum.
They were discovered in the archeological site of Shoush. These objects date back to a thousand years prior to the Elamite era.
Susa was an ancient city incessantly inhabited by humans for 5,500 years. The historic city was the capital of two great empires for 2,400 years. It was completely destroyed by invading Moguls.
The most recent artifact at this museum belongs to the Pahlavid era and is about one hundred years old. |
