===========
Ghara Kelisa, or black church, or St-thaddeus Church, is an armenian church located in the province of West Azerbaijan in Iran. A 10th century church, rebuilt in the 17th, in the middle of nowhere, at the edge of a kurdish village, not far from the turkish border and the mount Ararat. Once a year (19th of june), there is a service here, on the day of St Thaddeus. The iranian armenian community joins in a big pilgrimage for this occasion. But most of the time, it is absolutely empty and lost in the remote hills of western Iran.

I love the lost world atmosphere in your picture, nice colors too and framework ideal... Congratulation...
Sorry for my poor english.

Wow! Fantastic shot! The lonesome church in the vast landscape looks really impressive. Great job! Btw: Do you know how many Armenians have been left in Iran?
Regards
Andreas

Hi Emmanuel,
This is a amazing composition and a superb landscape scene. The church is perfectly positioned in the frame, and the overall tones of the image are so interesting. Well done.
Cheers Grant

Dear Emmanuel,
Extra-ordinary viewing angle.
The lonely church on the baren hills exerts a strong mental effect of ruggedness.

Best wishes.

A marvelous landscape that highlights this wonderful landmark...thanks to TE (and folks like you) we are able to see these places. The trick of black border is very nice...I am going to use this some day!

great atmosphere ,peaceful :)
i always admire this kind of places with some lonesome church...make the place really special.
well done Emmanuel

Bonjour Emmanuel,
Quel endroit sublime que cette église au milieu de son paysage minéral.
La photo semble un peu trop filtrée à mon goût... mais les tonalités sont parfaites et la lumière idyllique.

Oh this is good Emmanuel
Lovely scenery, looks so calm and quiet.
I like the film like framing, very suitable for this panoramic cropping.

Hi Emmanuel,
There are landscapes in earth that are breathtaking, and this is one of them... What a solitude, a feeling of denudated land...It seems like if a chemical oxidative process would have occurred on the surface of those hills.. And the dark church, as sober as the landscape itself... Solitude...
Excellent work!
Andre

Excellent crop and panoramic shot. Beautiful and barren setting for this church, love the tones.
cheers,
CT
