Travels on the Silk Road:
The ancient Silk Road passed from Trebzon/Turkey to Täbris/Iran and passed through Orumieh at the salt lake of the same name. The picture has been taken of a salt desert at the Eastern shore. Right on the horizon the road to Tabriz can be discerned. The temperature was around 38°C.

The only things growing under these harsh conditions are blue-green "algae" (rather bacteria), adding bright colors to occasional salt brines.

This slide had to be scanned, the picture processed in Photoshop (getting rid of a grainy sky by blurring; straightening; colour correction; sharpening of the lower half; increasing saturation by 12% to compensate for loss when reduzing size).
