[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is Mount Sabalan, locally called Savalan on the slope of which Ardebil is situated. This mountain is a point type volcano bearing stratovolcano cone. Its height is 4800m from sea level located in the western part of Ardebil. This mount includes three cones along with each other. Sabalan region is located on the Oligocene big horst, geologically. Its activity commenced from Eocene. At present, the only sign of Mount Sabalan activity is various sulfuric and hot water springs indicating post-volcanism phenomenon. At the base of the highest peak of Sabalan, a small lake exits.

A wonderful landscape picture of Iran. A place we don't usually get to see. Many contrasts and different formations.
