Photographer’s Note
Yazd is a very ancient city along the Silk Road, in the middle of the desert, in Central Iran.
Its center is a net of narrow streets and buildings built with bricks and mud. Marco Polo was here in his journey to China and described this city in his book Il Milione. Now a mix of old, traditional, modern and new co-exist together. Still walking around with no destination in its narrow streets is a fascinating experience.

Hello Stefano,
I like the effect of the wide angle increasing the perspective. This effect is also increased by the composition using the straigh line going directly to background.
As bonus, there is the forbidden panel and the boy looking back to us.
Yves.

Hello Stefano,
I'm beginning to believe you hired this woman in the black dress to follow you where ever you went, she features predominately in nearly all of your shots of Iran.
A lovely shot, the juxtaposition of the old and the new. Seen so well.

Peter

Hello stefano. A masked woman and a boy. An interesting photo. It is fascinating in strange way. The prohibition sign has symbolic meaning. Alltogether worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Stefano,
The bare walls, the amazingly clean streets and the relative emptiness gives this place an almost unreal atmosphere. The few items of red, white and yellow break the dominance of the sandy colour and add a puzzling element to the already strange place. The veiled woman in black places this in a context, and the boy looking at you reminds us that this is for real, not from a dream.
Regards,
Gert

Ciao Stefano,
A many-layered shot. I like the boy glancing back at you and the no-entry sign, which seems to be pretty symbolic here (cfr. the woman's dress code). Interesting picture of a country I still have a lot to learn about. Thanks.

Estupenda alegoria Stefano , hay tantas cosas prohibidas en ese pais que incluso una señal asi pasaría desapercibida.Excelente compo y presentacion.
Un saludo.

and whats that thing hanging like a bowl of something..is it a lamppost ?
Stefano..nice details in there !
and whats the outlet..leading into the basement..underground..temperaures are son high they cant stay above ?? and how come the women seem to keep themselves cool under the veil and the heavy garment..i forgot the name..what is it again ?

Hi Stefano,
This picture has everything! The woman in complete black, the little boy looking at the photographer, some red details to act as eye catchers and finally, a very interesting architecture! Quite a remarkable photo!
Kind regards

buona serata,
cris

Ciao Stefano,
I like the details from this ancient city. The style of houses are very interesting, and it is great to have the mother and child in the frame. It feels like we can be transported back in time...

Ciao Stefano,
Un'immagine molto simbolica perfettamente composta con questa lunga prospettiva ed il gioco delle ombre.
Mi piace anche questa complicità tra il bambino ed il fotografo.
Bravo!

Stefano,
OK, I've not been paying attention - that much is clearl - for only now to I realise a whole Iranian section opening up in your gallery - and it's a delight to see your photographic sensibilities transposed to another culture like this.
This one, not by any means a dark image, so it must be my mind whih chooses to see this little child happily walking with an undefined black shape into a "no entry" street as an image of death, easily passing among us, taking whomever it will.
Cheers
Colin

Ciao Stefano,
looking at the portfolio of one other member of TE,i show yours and i'd like to see Iran through the glance of a stranger.I like this scene with the woman in black, with her curious son to look at you,as the narrow, but empty roads of the city.Well done.
Have a nice week,Danos
