Photographer’s Note
I took the shot in the grand bazaar ( =market ) of Kerman almost 4 hours before our new year ( Nowruz ) started. The shops were being closed one by one and it seemed some people were in a hurry to do their last shopping and get back to the home waiting for that special moment of change; all but the travelers who had enough time and were not going to reach home on time to be with their family members!
One of the most important reasons for establishment of Kerman City is its location as a cross road. From long time ago, this city has been one of the important locations that connect west to east and north to south of Iran. Such a specification has had a remarkable influence on construction and development of the bazaar. As a result, the commercial axis and city plan have been designed based on the main commercial lines.
Bazaar of Kerman has been built through different periods lasting one thousand years and it has been and is the liveliest location in the city and has had and has a great influence culturally, economically and socially. The bazaar comprises of various rows or alleys such as Arg, Ganj Ali Khan, Ekhtiyari, Sardari, Vakil, Attari, Qadam Gah and Mozaffari rows. Any part of this bazaar had been constructed during the rules of one of the commander or rulers in this territory.
In the shops of this row-seen in the shot- they mostly sell the objects and dishes made of copper both in old and new designs.

Hello Atousa, It might come as a surprise to you when I tell you what it is about this market scene that I like the most, I like your composition, arches look fantastic especially under that light, perfect, I like to see the father walking & holding his baby in his arms, I like the colour & clarity but mostly I like so see that young lady in the wheel chair out & about enjoying life.
Well done.
Beautiful image, enhanced as always by a very interesting & informative note, no much history, fantastic. Thank you

Hello Atousa,
Your capture is so authentic, include mystical ambiance there. Splendid depth and perspective created by historical arch and columns. This wide and high portico an excellent element of your well taken photo while visitors adding life and layered goods making your frame more rich. Congratulations.

hi Atousa
You are having New Year in late March?
I find this market bazaar shot very interesting for a few reasons
.if you take away all the people, the market will be boring
.good light to shine everywhere even the ceiling level of arches
.good composition placing the corridor on the left side
.nice inclusion of the display boards at right
.the crowd in fact adds so much vibrancy to this shot
.sharp detail and showing a modern side of Iran
.shows a peaceful and harmonious side of Iran
.good color and contrast level
.informative note
It is really very clean market! Good work.
Greetings from Borneo.

Salaam Atousa,
A great portrait of daily life framed in a great graphic compo. I like to see the life of the bazaar and the architecture, which you used cleverly to give a great sense of perspective. The presence of that joyful family in the FG and the little girl in wheelchair make it more special. The detail of the wife smiling at his husband who is carrying a baby in his arms is touching.
Regards, José.

Hi Atousa,
I read your note here with great interest and the photo is naturally also very interesting. A daily life scene but a very special day. The anticipation of the new year is obvious. The building that houses this bazaar is also quite fantastic!

Hello Atousa:
The urban areas are an excellent combination in front of the architectural aspects that can be seen around.
There is much dynamism in the arena, all within a balanced and appropriate framing. Good handling of light, too.

Hi Atousa,
Interesting daily life photo, what an old architecture still using as the scene for bazaar yet, tidy work and good perspective effect to show the view along the corridor, distinct image, well done.

The bazaar has not changed much in 17 years, since Steve Harnett took this picture http://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=5&p=994205.
Your image is full of colors, dynamism and history.
Thanks for sharing

Hello Atousa,
Your exotic (for me, at least) image of the Grand Bazaar in Kerman reveals wonderful architectural lines, and your highly informative note completes a first rate TE package. I knew Kerman only from the legendary rugs that are produced there.
Warm regards,

I am a bit late to wish you for the new year, but not too much I guess. 1430, is it not? Good shot of the market with fine vaulted ceilings and a lot to see in daily activity. Amidst all the fun, which people seem to e having, bit sad to see the girl in the wheelchair.
Best regards
