Sunset by the Greek Ship

It is said that some years ago, a Greek cargo ship approached Kish island and it ran aground and was unable to leave. The name of the ship( which is of 7061 tons gross, 447ft,6 ins in length) was originally "Empire Trumpet",then "Naturalist","Persian Cyrus","Hamadan" and finally "Koula F" and was built in 1943 by William Hamilton & co.,Ltd, at port Glasgow , Scotland . It is a mountain of steel, behind which the sun hides and in the moon light it looks like a floating giant.
Old tales say that the absence of a lighthouse was the reason the ship ran aground. Apparently all attempts to float it again was fruitless and it failed. And now that there is nothing left of it but a huge steel structure, the tale seems to be true.

Near the ship, a rest area has been set up and refreshments are served there.

Watching the sunset by the Greek ship is one of the beautiful attractions of Kish island that almost no tourist has bypassed the chance to witness this natural phenomenon.

Amazing sunset shot and composition! Colours are very impressive and lights are wonderful!

Hello Atousa,
This photo is beautiful - almost like photographic poetry. It is simple, but all of the elements come together so perfectly. The silhouette of this ghost ship against the sunset is wonderful, and so are the calm waters around it. Thanks for the magical view. :-)

de belles allures de bateau fantome...

The pov is great with the ship standing against the sunset giving the feeling of a ghost-ship..it's great and brings in a great mood!! Everything looks perfect from the light management to the sharpness. A very pleasent shot to look at..I like it!!
Thanks for sharing it.
Regards,

Igor

Hello Atousa
Ships has lots of stories to tell! A kind of mysterious atmosphere around this ship which stands out well against the warm colors of the sunset and the darker one of the sea. I also like the peaceful feeling, even though it is a tourist attraction. The only thing is the boat, which is too centred :)
Cheers
Marilyn

Hi Atousa
A pleasing photograph of this monolith. Catching the setting sun behind it adds some drama to the scene.

Salam Atousa,
The light and colours are amazing and along with the silhouette of the ship and the texture of the sea produces a very attractive image. I am not sure if having centred the ship was the best idea, but it is just a detail.
I wouldn't call a shipwreck a 'natural phenomenon', but I agree that it is very unusual that the ship stood up so all these years. I wouldn't imagine that it is a wrecked ship.
Regards, José.

Salam Atousa,

Hi, Atousa -

A haunting shot and a great story to go with it. Great light management; I just wish you had put the ship a little bit off center. Well, on second thought, maybe not.

Best,
Dan

Wonderful set of colors here Atousa, really dreamy effect, I like particularly the texture and tones of the sea. The ship of course gives it the interesting perspective. A pity that it is centered. In such a composition it looks much better to put the main focus center on the side...Nice detail of that seabird...

TFS

Hi Atousa
The luminosity and olors are excellent in thiss fine backlight compo. The centering of the boat works also well in my opinion... Sharp and clear, interesting subject.

Hola Atousa,
Una bella toma con el sol escondido tras el berco. Estupendo contraluz con bonitos colores. Hubiera estado mejor si el barco no estuviera centrado.
Cordialmente
Charo

Salam Atousa
Fantastic! The sight of the silhouetted ship looming like a ghost is fantastic. Like how you used the ship to cover the sun & also like the shimmering water, reflecting the sunset colours. Centering is not classical mode of framing, but IMO works well here. Good work!

Hi Atousa.

Despiste I'm not really fond of the pictures with the main subject centered...this is an exception.

The light was....a pleasure!

Hey Atousa,
I like this composition a lot ... it is quite captivating. Placing that giant ship in front of the setting sun was an excellent idea. I also like the soft warm colors of the sky. Great job!!! Congratulations!!!

Hello Atousa,
Interesting story and very beautiful sunset picture with the silhouette of this Greek cargo ship.
Beautiful colours.

Hi Atousa,
great image, really well captured! You chose the perfect moment to capture the boat with such power.
great work

Really impressive. The ship seems to be enormously big, though from this photo I really can´t guess it size. The central placement of the ship seems to emphasize it´s size even more. Actually, the ship could remind the Noah´s ark.
Nice colors. Maybe I´d go for duotone/sepia here.
Best regards,
Adrian
