I took the shot in Laft which is an ancient harbor (more than 2000 years) located on Qeshm Island.
The little boy asked me to take a picture of him and instead I asked him to smile!... and you see the result.
This shot is my 100th on TE and the first portrait in my gallery. I would like to thank all friends -including those who are rarely around- who encouraged me with their comments, critiques and kind words.
I tried and still trying to represent some unknown or maybe known aspects and views of my beautiful country; few drops of the ocean.

Bonsoir, cher Atousa,
Du bout des lèvres ou à pleines dents, chaque sourire est unique. Prémisse du rire, il est le témoin d'une émotion intérieure. Un rayon de soleil au milieu d'un visage qui ne laisse pas de marbre..
Portrait très réussi.

So close we can see all the fine details of his interesting face. Well captured.

A nice and gentle expression, with superb light and shade play on his face. Sharp and clear.
I may have cropped a tiny slice on the right side, to avoid the darker border, but i am just nitpicking!

The portrait is a refreshing one due to the closeness of the subject, the intense cropping and the great use of light. Regards. Klaudio.

Salam dear Atousa
A gentle and shy smile to celebrate your 100 photos and your presence on TE :)
The tight framing is working well and the natural colours are nicely rendered.
All the best

Salam dear Atousa, congratulations on your 100th photo, you have made a wonderful contribution to this website with your beautiful photos and kind critiques. You have celebrated a "first" aswell with this exceptional portrait. I love how you have cropped the little boys face, what a beautiful little man he is. You have also handled the strong light and difficulties with shade, extremely well. Great shot, I hope to see many hundreds more frmo you. Have a good day, Lisa

Nice expression, he's looking straight into your lens, good pov. Excellent clarity and sharpness though the light is quite harsh but it's manageable here. Good contrast and color saturation. Great capture, TFS

Nice portrait of the smiling face. You could have kept him a bit off-centre IMHO. Even though he's in the shade, the details are nice & the skin tones natural. Congratulations on 2 counts...your 100th shot & your first portrait! Keep posts coming...you are a good photographer, Atousa & a fine ambassador of your country!

The first portrait in your TE gallery is a real success indeed. You have captured not only the face of the little boy, but also his character and mood. Excellent photo in a whole series of presentations of your country!

It is so good to hear from you. I am absolutely delighted. I have been wondering about you. I hope that you are in good health as this boy in the photo. It is a wonderful portrait of your future generation. If he allowed you taking such close up photo, he must have had a great trust in you. According to your note, it was he who asked you first. You must have fascinated him. He gave you a great smile in return. A great dialog is captured in your photo.
It is so nice to have you back with us Atousa. I must write again that I am so delighted.
With my very best regards,
Have a very pleasant week, Atousa
