Photographer’s Note
The ruins of Persepolils, which was the capital of the Persian empire, taken by Alexander the Great in 330BC and declining in importance from that time.
Now a UNESCO registered world heritage site and close to the city of Shiraz

Hi Steve,
That's a wonderful shot, excellent composition. I like the way you have used the foreground statue to set up what is left of the ruin.
Superb colours and definition.
This looks like an amazing place to visit.

A land that I aspire to see one day...you're lucky
This is a very nice composition with plenty of 'other' stuff to see apart from the stone sculpture which looks 'oh so roman'. Thanks for sharing
Cheers

Hi Stephen
Persepolis, you were there in 1992, 6 year after I was there. As it looks nothing has changed. When looking around there a group of Pasdaran adopted me, asked countless questions about the history of Persia. It was a really interesting interaction between the cultures.
Historic sites often have not many buildings left, as in this case, you need your imagination. With the horse in the foreground you have given the picture some DOF, sharpness is adequate and color contrast is good. Well done
Best regards
Urs
